Friday 22nd July 2011
BBC One
20:00 - EastEnders: 7.43m (34.7%)
21:00 - My Family: 3.99m (19.1%)
21:30 - Miranda: 3.75m (18.0%)
23:05 - My Favourite Joke: 2.09m (17.5%)

BBC Two
22:00 - The Rob Brydon Show: 1.61m (8.3%)

ITV1
19:00 - Emmerdale: 6.15m (32.8%)
19:30 - Coronation Street: 7.41m (36.8%)
20:30 - Coronation Street: 7.39m (33.5%)
21:00 - One Night Only: 2.49m (11.9%)

All include HD and for the entire slot.

9pm hour for BBC1 benefiting slightly with poorer ITV1 opposition, but not by much. Miranda not too far behind overtaking My Family either. Not often you see EastEnders beat Coronation Street on a Friday, but I imagine Corrie will be in front in the tape-checked ratings.

I think this thread is starting to get a complex about ITV1. At least rzt is sane and realise that it's always delayed on Saturday outside X Factor AND STRICTLY season, whatever is on. I'm am surprised there is a delay in publishing them if the figures are all there though.

Anyway, poor night all round really...what the hell was One Night Only? I can't even remember seeing it advertised. Poor figures for the soaps both in terms of vieiwng figures and share. My Family is really struggling now, it should be only 200,000 off a repeat.

I think only a couple of people who work for DS probably have access to the ratings, Andrew Laughlin and PJ Millar. So not any reporter can report the figures. PJ hasn't been online in the last week so perhaps he's on holiday?

It was a repeat of a Phil Collins: One Night Only ITV1 special which originally aired last year to 4.5m. Poor rating for it last night, I'm a bit surprised they decided to repeat that one instead of one of the other music specials they've done in the past to higher ratings.

Rob Brydon started quite well considering he began halfway through Alan Carr. My Family recovered a bit, but one might have expected a bigger bounce with ITV1 in niche repeat mode.

Uncalled for. Last week's roundup was published at lunchtime, so you're incorrect there. Obviously if he's on holiday there's not much he can do about that, but it's often the case that it is delayed for no apparent reason.

Maybe they're in 'couldn't care less' mode? It does seem very strange.

Fair enough - I'm sorry for saying that. I won't take back the comment that the thread does seem to have an ITV complex though - now they're to blame for when ratings reports come in eg. good night = early report etc. which seems slightly far fetched.

I agree they often seem delayed for no reason some of the time.

Good that My Family got a slight boost, it was the best episode for a while IMO.

It says something when this Summer's lineup is an improvement! ”

I remember 2006 being a terrible summer/year for ITV1, with Saturdays especially being a problem. I think it was 2005/2006 when ITV's decline truly set in.

I didn't realise Phil Collins was first shown last year, I thought it was first shown back in 2008 as part of their 'For One Night Only' series.

What was It's Now or Never?

And in a similar vein, what was Dancing in the Street?

I remember Dancing in the Street was hosted by Bruce Forsyth and Zoe Ball. I think professionals and amateurs from across the country did a live danceathon, though I can't remember it clearly.

are you for real? I think this should do rather well given the lead in and lack of similar doc's. I'd say ~4m depending on weather and any other unknowables.

Maybe Charham didn't know that it's on ITV1. It does sound a bit like something Channel 4 would do.

1.8m was Charnham's prediction. It actually airs next week on the 30th anniversary of the wedding.

The Express are interested - even when there are 100 dead in Norway, they have Diana on the front page.

Maybe Channel 5 should do a Diana special for The Express?

PS its 30 years to the day on July 29th thats why the timing

Massive Danceathon with hundreds of dancers from Trafalgar Square. Zoe Ball and Bruce Forsyth hosted it.
It was a one off.

Thanks - ignore my madness on that one.

Ah right, guess that explains it but I think they'd should've ditched the anniversary and gone with the flow TBH.

I remember it because we were travelling on holiday at the time and local radio was promoting it a lot.

It would have got lost in the sea of wedding stuff in April, it should stand out alone in late July IMO.

Possibly, but the 'sea of wedding stuff' would've also bought with it its own momentum. Then again, if it'd aired in April it may have been given the Tuesday night death slot I guess!

Charnham sees a 30 year old wedding, and he thinks that people are bored of Royal Weddnig, so as such are not going to be inetrested in one that is 30 years old, and where one half of the couple is dead, and the other remarried.

Not that I should have to justify my predication.

That's kind of the reason why I think it should've aired in April. Most people (admittedly not all) were lapping up the wedding then. Now it'll be...is it STILL going on?!
