Paul Mac

I read that ... back home in Liverpool
Paul had a piano in the front room
( purchased I believe from Brian Epstein's family firm )

Of course Paul used to give it a bit of hammer and during the 60s he emerged as a very talented pianist on various Beatles tracks.

Cant help wondering why he has n't done a lot more on TV and video tape, singing and playing the piano.

It would be brilliant to see him perform ..." Long and Winding Road" on the piano... and "Maybe Im Amazed "
Certain songs fit the format, there are probably a lot more of his songs out there that would be just perfect.

John seemed to gravitate to the piano during the 70s and appeared playing it and singing quite a lot.
He seemed to be calming down and simplifying things and the piano was ever present for classic songs like Jeolous Guy and Imagine.

I have a suspicion that Paul has done a lot of songwriting at the piano down thru the years.... you d think he would have begun to concentrate on singing and playing the piano and performing too in that mode.

Jimmy Webb has always done things that way

Paul and Brian

Paul Mac and Brian Wilson can be said to be two of
the greatest song writers and performers ever.

Paul born on the western seaboard of Britain,
Brian born on the western seaboard of America

They were both members of perhaps the top groups in their
respective countries.... groups who sang in close harmony
and put a big emphasis on the voice.

They both played bass guitar

Both Brian and Paul wrote some awesome, melodic songs which led to them to be compared with classical music writers like Schubert.

The really spooky thing though is that they were born
within 48 hours of each other !

There are a lot of Paul piano songs from the 70s, they were just buried in albums, some examples:

Dear Boy

Dear Friend

1985

Warm and Beautiful

Back Seat of My Car

Then of course there are songs like Let 'Em In and My Love which are well-known.

Paul never did a piano special style show, though he did a special called One Hand Clapping in which he does Maybe I'm Amazed:

Well they were never really as close but in '74 during the recording for the Wings album Venus & Mars, John had left Yoko and was going around with a girl called May Pang, Yoko called Paul and asked for help, so Paul told John he should court Yoko again, and he did. So there must've been some respect there for each other.

John and Paul were also together watching Saturday Night Live in the States at one point.

Then of course you have to remember that one of the main reasons join came out of retirement was competition and Coming Up was the song that John Lennon liked so much it brought him back into recording.

And, concerning a prenup, I think Nancy's quite well off herself.
