I Love Britney and she's the princess of pop. But I don't mind Ke$ha proclaiming her the queen. If Rolling Stone can give the crown to a person with a 4-year old career and 2,5 albums then Britney deserves it much more. Britney is the closest heir of Madonna's crown anyway.
(I can't believe I'm talking about crowns, queens and thrones *cringes )

Ridiculous remark.
Just what you would expect from an artist who can't spell her own name properly. |

Ke$ha's opinions are valid, but OP seems quick to jump on anything which can be seen as a detraction to Gaga

I'm taking into account the other threads they made, and this one created probably to generate another storm of arguments whether or not Gaga should be given the queen of pop title by RS...
How dare Rolling Stone declare Lady Gaga the Queen of Pop, and how dare Lady Gaga not turn down the honor. Like Michael Jackson Madonna has many personal failings, but she is universally acknowledged as the Queen of Pop. If Justin Bieber had dared to accept the crown as King of Pop while Michael Jackson was still alive he would have been mocked and criticized by fans and critics. Even to this day Jackson is still universally regarded as the King of Pop. Madonna earned the title of Queen of Pop by releasing many chart-topping albums, her singles ruled the radio in the 80s and 90`s. Although Madonna may no longer top the singles charts, her tours always sell out. In the 80`s thousands of Madonna wannabes dressed like their idol. You don`t see any teen girls wearing meat dresses to school, nobody in her right mind wants to look like Lady Gaga. The title of Queen of Pop isn`t a title you bestow on an artist after only one or two hit albums, a pop singer must earn the title by producing superlative music over a long period of time. Lady Gaga intended her latest album "Born This Way" to be her magnum opus, she predicted it would be the album of the decade. It turns out Lady Gaga is a lousy artist and a lousy psychic. Considering how much Lady Gaga hyped "Born This Way", it`s one of the biggest bombs in history. The album was lambasted by critics, and it`s quickly sinking in the charts. Lady Gaga the Queen of Pop? Yeah, right, and I`m the Queen of England. |

I totally agree that Lady GaGa does not yet deserve the title of Queen of Pop (but I think she will earn it one day, definitely) but your post sort of lost validity when you started putting her down as an artist. You can't deny she is a very talented artist/performer.
Anyway, back to the original topic. I think Britney is better known and more deserving of the 'Princess of pop' title rather than queen of pop - because there are many more deserving people of such a title (agree that Madonna probably deserves that). However I think it's great that Ke$ha is saying nice things about her. It makes a change from the typical stereotype that all pop stars cannot stand one another. |

My opinion on the Queen and King of pop is that only MJ and Madonna are the King & Queen and will forever be regarded as such.

Kylie is the second female artist with 37!Britney and Kylie are known universally as the Pop Princesses. Ke£ha sounded ecstatic...high??...yes! nd cannot believe people are still raving about the RS article...they did bad...again

No she really isn't. Princess is the correct world.
Britney can't sell bucket loads of albums like she used to so i don't think she will never ever reach Madonna's crown. |

Does Ke$ha really think she's young enough to not know who Madonna is?
Has she lived in a cave? (Of course she has, it explains a lot.) |

The truth of the matter is that Madonna is the Queen of Pop. And Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears share the Princess Of Pop crown.
Now personally I'm not a Madonna fan, but you have got to give her dues. I think Britney has the potential to be the Queen, but that will really depend on how her career pans out the next 10 years or so. |

I'm sorry but after Brit lost it I don't think she'll ever manage to be a Queen.

Has she lived in a cave? (Of course she has, it explains a lot.) Also no one is "destined to be Queen" there either IS or isnt. Britney had massive success and now she has her hard core fanbase and iconography. Same with Kylie. If there was to be a Queen of Pop, Janelle Monae speaks for his decade ![]() Madonna is Queen Of Music...there i said it

I'm pretty sure she didn't even know about this until we did too.. and why would she reject it? If someone said I was the queen of pop I wouldn't argue :P |

Uhm, that would be Bionic
![]() And BTW got mostly positive reviews. Wow, ok a simple "I don't think she should be given the title" wasn't enough? Btw, Christina had TALKED about Bionic, she had NEVER called it the album of the decade or a groundbreaking album that will change the world. GaGa wasn't just discussing about the album, she was BLATANTLY HYPING IT UP and it ended up being...uninspired and one dimensional, more like Popcorn This Way Also, GaGa had been promoting the album for 9 months before its release, she released 2 singles, 2 videos and 2 promotional singles and she went full on during May and June, worldwide and Stateside. Christina did a half-hearted 6-day promo, with one single, one self-funded video and a promo single. NO COMPARISON |

In Pop monarchy, Madonna is undoubtedly the Queen. I would say the princesses are Britney, Beyonce and Kylie. In the lower ranks (I don't know, duchesses, countesses?) would be Lady Gaga and Christina.

For me Kylie will always be the Queen of Pop and Britney the Princess of Pop.
Madonna has as much right to be titled Queen of Pop though, I think if I was born in her era I could appreciate her music more. A lot of her tracks are timeless (I barely go a few days without listening to her!) but for me Kylie is the Queen! Gotta love Ke$ha though, Britney all the way. ![]() ![]() ![]() Can there be 2 queens? |
