Bean sprouts

I know this probably sounds silly, but is it safe to eat these? I'm talking about the sprouts included with sitr-fry packs etc.

Obviously I wouldn't eat them raw, but a part of me is paranoid now, after the E. Coli breakout in Germany

Seemingly the infection was actually spread by fenugreek seeds.

Yeah, we're not eating them atm because of all that stuff about e-coli D:
