Whats the fix and how much will it cost?
I still have 1 year warranty remaining but will they do it under the warranty?
Gutted cos bought it just 18 months ago for £600.

No, obviously it's NOT covered by warranty - it's physical damage. And as all panels have to go back to Sony, there's no way it could be overlooked.

Sony are probably the lowest cost make for replacing LCD panels, but even so, if you brought it in I would charge you £483.10 inc VAT for the repair (I've just checked the cost of a panel with Sony).

I would suggest you contact your household insurance.

bought it from argos with sony's 3 year gaurantee. Broke while moving it dropped onto table edge.

and also i have contents insurance with liverpool victoria.
