The UN?
The Swiss Government?
The US Senate?
The House of commons

What is this fabulous institution Melody alludes to?

And I still don't see precisely what it is she actually does!

Glad she's gone.

Her focus groups weren't very democratic...she frigged the questions and misrepresented the results.

Possibly the best line in the series for me -- an utterly absurd statement delivered with such delusional confidence.

She did overplay the "I'm actually vulnerable" bit on You're Fired too.

She never came across remotely vulnerable. If anything she displayed all the classic Apprentice traits - very determined, a bit arrogant, self-opinionated blah blah blah. But vulnerable? Could have fooled me!

I immediately thought of the UN. Possibly the Eurovision Song Contest jury. Fifa is in with a chance. Or the Manx Tynewald. Take your pick.

What is this need to know exactly what Melody does?

The details of what the candidates do are all findable on Google etc. But rarely are the specifics laid out in either the main show or YFd.

Although Melody's claims to have created Ancient Greece as pointed out above are a tad OTT; they all do it to a greater or lesser extent.

(If anything, I'd like to know what she does but becasue the area or work sounds laudable and interesting not because I doubt her claims.)

For example, from content on the show only, can anyone tell me what Tom's business actually does; it's turnover, customer base, USP, strengths, weaknesses, successes, failures?????

Can we say exactly what Helen does other than organise her boss or type his/her Powerpoint presentations? What pitch size does she decide to type in???

I want to know

I thought Melody explained in outline exactly what her business did with young people.

What did everyone want her to do? Explain how a workshop is put together?

'What do you do at 10am?'. The same as you Dara, either I'm at the coffee machine or taking a leak

PS Wax was completely out of order - see my post in the Ruby Wax thread.

Many valid points, and perhaps it is unfair to subject her to a level of scrutiny which the others are not getting.

But surely the curiosity is raised by the grandiose claims ?? She's the first person in 8 series to claim to have trained the Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela ( I may have mis-heard this) so we're bound to want to know more about it, and when the language used doesn't add to our understanding then a level of cynicism on a discussion forum doesn't seem out of place.

Melody has made big claims throughout the series, can't help feeling she's hoist by her own petard at this stage.

People are entitled to want to know. Also if anyone else came out with the sort of waffle and grandiose statements that she does, Sugar would be sneering and yelling, calling it the greatest load of old rubbish he had ever heard (though in cruder language than that).

This much is true.

And it's not so much that people want to know specifically what she does, just it appears she makes these claims about how credible she is, and it's not clear how this work makes her an appropriate candidate for the process i.e. she's not selling, she's not producing, etc. People want to know what running social enterprise entails. The vagueness seemed deliberate to cover the fact she was not a truly credible candidate to start the kind of business LS was looking to invest in.
