His big crescendo moment is that he actually managed to sell well in one task? People have been doing that since week one. He's also yet to voice his criticisms during a task. I get that it's better to sit back and let people tell you what to do then list their faults while sucking up to Alan, but come on, final five? No, bye.
Tom is terrible. It's just embarrassing at this point.

Tom is great, he has good ideas and always sees where they are going wrong. He's punished by LAS and people on here for being too quiet though which I think is unfair.

Good ideas? My packet of emergency biscuits disagree. His ideas have yet to amount to anything.
He does always see where they are going wrong, I agree... he just doesn't seem to do anything to stop them, instead preferring to let them fail then tattle on them to Alan.
He isn't quiet, the others just completely dominate him, which is his fault.
I agree, he should have been fired long ago, if Lord Alan chooses him, the business will most likely go under and then Tom will tell him what they should have done.
He didnt do anything wrong in this task except that he wasnt forceful enough to correct other peoples mistakes. He didnt deserve to be sacked for that.
I think that if he really was the boss he wouldnt have this problem. People would need to listen and show him the respect he deserves.

There's actually not been consistenly good selling this series. Thinking about it there has not been consistenly good PM performances this series either.
I don't think the episode showed he sold that well at all, although he was the best performing member of the three.
It's symptomatic of how average the contestants have been this series though that Tom is still there and arguably still not the weakest with Natasha still in the competition. I think Helen has been head and shoulder the strongest candidate but she's nothing brilliant compared to past series. Sue and Jim have been average contestants and would not have gone as far in any other series.

Tom could work really well with LAS, he's an inventor with a really sharp mind, he's just a terrible salesman, it just so happens that I think that's one of LAS's strengths.

I see little sign of him being punished by AS. He's lost more than anyone else and is still there, despite also being the only one to receive a warning.
He reminds me a little of Michael from a couple of years ago: he seems to be being kept in just because AS likes him.

So one bad idea, which to his credit he dumped the minute he knew it wasn't popular unlike melody who over rode the market research and just went with her ideas regardless.

It's his personality and there are many quiet people who are very successful in business, Bill Gates for example.
The only people that need to be 'dominant' are salesman and one of the things that does annoy with the Apprentice is it does imply that being a good salesman and being a good businessman are one and the same.
The idea that MDs need to be hard nosed, loud arses is perpetuated by Sralan and the show itself but hasn't got a base in reality.
Toms good, i like him, he says the right ideas but no one really listens to him and thats unfair. his a sweet guy, and isnt manipulative or rude like others
i was only half watching but i thought the feedback was that he sold pretty well. You can't really blame him because the other 2 bickering broads lost the task for him.

He doesn't need to be dominant, he just needs to actually do something. And you're right about sales not equating to being a good businessman, but his only demonstrable skill has been seeing where other people are going wrong and waiting till the boardroom to tell them!
He probably does have a good business idea, but Lord (Sugar) help me if he wins! It would be so, so undeserved. I like him as a person, but let's please be real. He won what, two tasks? I can't think of a genuine contribution he made over the whole series.
He's very passive, he just needs to open his mouth more. During the tasks he just nods his head and goes along with everything and then when he gets to the boardroom it's "I knew this was happening", "I saw it going wrong" etc.
If he opened his mouth and pushed things forward then he probably could made a difference in the team he's working in and would stand out more.

Tom is totally useless and I cannot believe that Melody went over him tonight! I really cannot understand why Sir Alan kept him when he has been giving him so much stick!
Tom is a total wimp and Melody has got so much more savvy than Tom and many of the others!
Helen was also a total bitch tonight and obviously found Melody her biggest competition and wanted her out!
But so funny how Tom was prepared to drop her in it with Melody in the boardroom, especially as he is s'pose to be going out with her, isn't he?

Nah. He was on a losing streak even at that point and, despite claiming to agree with the criticism he's given, keeps repeating the same mistakes. He didn't do anything particularly terrible this week, but should've gone on past performance.
