I still dont think even now she got the concept of not selling to retailers, even in the boardroom she didnt appear to 'get it'.

Bother trying to find out when a retailer closes, or even if he still wants the product ...... nah ..... it'll be fine.

I think we saw a definite glimpse of the 'glorified PA' reality, that's for sure...

She didn't do herself any favours, but I don't think she can be accused of 'leading a coup'. She asked Melody outright if she could take over. That's not what coups are about.

I found the whole 'coup' thing a bit odd, all that 'I've been lying awake all night and worrying' ... it was almost like she'd come up with it as a strategy before the show even started and had been waiting for the right moment to try it. Melody's face was a picture and to give her credit she handled it very well. Was Helen really expecting her to say 'oh yes please, do take over'. Interestingly if she had of taken over though it might have lead to her being fired.

Over rated from day one...

Helen's done a very good job of staying in the background and not doing anything to get herself into trouble. She is a good organiser and had the advantage with La Redoute of knowing who they were (they're not just big in France). That's not to say she doens't present well - she clearly does. But in last night;s boardroom I noticed she claimed the 'big order' from ASDA as hers, when it was very clearly Jim who won that. She manages people well - she even made the attempt to slip Melody the dagger seem like something perfectly reasonable. But she hasn't got any real business savvy and this week's task really exposed her. She'd be an outstanding department or section head but nothing more.

Tom is very clearly the only person in the process who has the skillset and the personality to co-found a business and then only if he grows a set. Susan in ten years will be a formidable business woman - her instincts are good, but she is childish, petulant and frequently silly. Not to mention falling asleep on the job....

That's called taking a power nap, Aedin .

Her boardroom performance was weak as well.

I thought Helan in the board room was quite terrifying, Melody was doomed from the moment she did not let St Helan tak e over as PM.

And her speech back at the house about Tom being naughty, I get the feeling not many people say no to St helan and live to tell the tale!

She seems to be a formidable if not very likeable buisness woman and I wonder what her buisenss proposal to Lord Alan will be, doubtless it will be flawlessly presented, typed and the figure will be spot on, but does she have any real flair and imagination

So if Melody had gone....... 'Yeah Helen, youre much better than me, OK you take over.'

Then she wouldnt have been doomed?

If Melody had bowed to Helen's will Shuggy would have made mincemeat of her. Accepting that someone else can do your job better is a green light to be sacked.

Helen had no clue last night and her flaws were exposed for all to see. Asking to take over was probably the worst thing she could have done in shuggy's eyes. Undermining your immediate boss is a big no - no in business.

Helen is an excellent PA no doubt, and can obviously pitch an idea, but when it comes to the nitty gritty she floundered badly last night. In fact I think that she still had no idea why going to retailers was a bad idea, even after Shuggy explained it to her.

I think Susan has grown up a bit during the process, doing well has given her confidence and I don't think she is childish or silly anymore. Her instincts are very good and she has actually handled a lot of crap from the other contestants with more maturity than some of the others.

As for falling asleep, who hasn't had a doze in a car when they've been on a gruelling schedule for weeks and weeks. I'm sure some of the them were sleeping on the Eurostar the other week as well.

Of the final 5, I actually only really like Susan and Jim now.

And yet Sugar didn't even tell her off for it.

Helen's main error was sticking with the selling to retail concept.

Even that was only the disaster it turned out to be because a wholesaler shut at 14:00. I doubt any candidate, ever, would have expected that.

That wholesaler was nearer and so the team would have got a guaranteed £90 for that sale and left Helen time to continue selling after it was completed.

That would have easily won them the task

I meant that from Helans eyes she was doomed as soon as she did not let Helan take over.

Certainly a better people manager than Melody would have wanted to konw why Helan felt things were going so wrong that Helan wanted to stage the coup and in fairness if Melody had agreed to let Helan do some of the PM she could have spread the blame .

Dont get me wrong as I said Helan is quite worryingly and spookily miss Perfect but her reasons for the attempted coup amy have been quite valid, it appeaered to come out of the blue but we dont really know what tipped her over the edge and how many conversations she had had previously with Melody about how badly the task was going


Melody was doomed as far back as 3 or 4 weeks ago when she stopped listening to a word anyone said , it even appeared she had failed to listen to LAS' instructions on the task

This misconception that in buisness you have to be as hard as nails is quite worryingly wrong and reminds me of how the yuppies behaved under Margaret Thatcher

Be strong and opionated certaily but in buisenss you have to interact with people and if you are to hard you will not suceed longterm

Be careful who you step on on the way up, they may no hang around for you to hold on to as you fall back down to earth.
