Do you love the album or do you think its just selling on name alone? Would like to hear your different opinions..

Personally I found it very boring and sub-par. The only decent track is "Best Thing I Never Had".

I think she should've made this the standard album cover: http://josnjai.com/wp-content/upload...nce4delux1.jpg

I think it's very good. I like all the references to R'n'B of the past, especially the 90s, but an updated version.

I think it's her best from her four album - DIL was very hit'n'miss, as was Sasha Fierce, I think B'Day is her most experimental, but I still think this one is the best.

I don't think the singles are doing well in the US, so I think she's very much an ''albums artist'' now, if there is such a thing.

I think it might be a bit of a grower. On the first few listens I was really underwhelmed by it, there were only a few tracks I could really remember after I'd finished (Countdown, Run The World + Best Thing I Never Had), but I'm slowly getting more into it.

It's definitely a grower. Much better than I Am Sasha Fierce. At the moment I'm loving 1+1, End of Time, Countdown. I also like Love on Top it's got a great retro feel.

I really quite like it. It seems 'whole' unlike IASF which was wasn't fluid enough for my liking, although I loved individual songs.

Love on Top is my favourite - as Unigal07 mentions - the retro feel is brilliant.

I've heard the album 4 times trying to like it, but I CAN'T.It's pretty bad.I only like 4 songs on there ; '1+1', 'BTINH', 'Start Over' and 'Schoolin Life', but everything else is either a snoozefest or awful. The melodies are not intense enough and fall flat, the beats and arrangements are mediocre and one-dimensional and her vocals are distant and overdone.

I would actually appreciate 4 if it was at least a personal album, but it's not. She's happily married, she says that Jay Z is the perfect husband and then she makes songs like 'I Miss You', 'I Care' and 'BTINH'.They don't fit the frame. The album proves that she can't write lyrics AT ALL

It's slightly below average. I only like one track and that is Rather Die Young. I like the old 90's vibe from it but it doesn't do it for me despite loving 90's music. But i still like Beyonce and would happily pay to see the eventual tour she will do. Not for the album of course (she will still do oldies) but because she is one of the best performers about.

Besides B'Day it's her best album yet. Every single song has been well thought out and her vocals are superb throughout. And each RnB reference suits the subject matter and time that it's referring to. Lyrically, I also think it's on point and relatable. My favourite album this year so far.

I think 4 is the heart and soul of Beyonce we've been waiting for. Her ballads beforehand may have been great, but they were also kind of hollow.

In saying that, I only really like half the album. That may be more personal taste than the quality of the material, but I find there are some nice enough songs with no-repeat factor. For me, the stand outs are End of Time, 1+1, I Was Here, Run The World and Countdown.

I don't think Beyonce has made a classic album yet. DIL was not consistent enough and was hit and miss. B Day was more cohesive as an album but lacked the spunk of a great album. It was not personal and did not tell us anything about beyonce. IAMSF was also hit and miss, It was just a collection of singles without any themes or cohesiveness. 4 is quite boring and is not as good as other rnb albums. She is not doing anything new or refreshing. Alicia Keys first two albums, Lauryn hill album, amy winehouse album, christina aguilera's stripped album, jasmine sullivans Fearless album and Britney's albums are better than most of beyonce's album catalogue. She is a strong vocalist and very talented but she needs to open up and write a solid classic album which she hasn't done yet but i think 4 is going down the right step towards doing a classic album.

It's my favourite Beyonce album. There is only one song I always skip and that is the first one, '1+1'. I just find it a bit boring for an album opener. I would have put Run The World at the start (which I have done in my iTunes)!

I especially love 'Start Over' and 'Party'!

Very good points. Although I've never found Alicia Keys's album very special or groundbreaking.

With Beyonce, imo, it just seems like with her albums there are the "chosen" singles and then just a random bunch of songs she's recorded thrown together as "album tracks".

I noticed this with IASF. There was a HUGE gap in quality between If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies, Halo, Sweet Dreams and Broken Hearted Girl compared to the likes of Satellites (), Hello, Dissapear, Why Don't You Love me etc

I love 4, but in comparison to other R'n'B albums it isn't that great. But as a standalone piece of work, I think it's great.

I Am Sasha Fierce was a really strong album, 4 to me is a bit of a disappointment after that..

It really has grown on me, however it's still no where near as good as B'Day or Sasha Fierce. Those two albums were full of prospective hit singles with really catchy melodies. I just can't see many hits being released off this.

Can't wait for her tour though

I'm really enjoying it, the production, vocal arrangement and harmonies are top notch throughout. I Love End of time, I care, Party, Countdown, Schoolin life, 1+1. You get the drift, lol.

I love it. Some of the stand out songs are End Of Time, 1+1, I Was Here, Countdown, Best Thing I Never Had, Party, Love On Top, Run The World, Schoolin' Life.....basically the whole album. I really like the R&B influence to it.

Her voice on this really stands out for me. It's the strongest it's ever been imo. She said that when she sings live she noticed it has a different tone. More raw and it really adds to the emotion to the songs so it's paid of. I hope it continues to do well.
