Pioneer Plasma PDP50XDE TV Screen Fault
Hi - Our 5 year old Pioneer Plasma PDP50XDE made a couple of loud "crackling" noises we then lost the top half of the TV picture. All thats visible on the top half of the screen is a black/greenish film over the picture, totally non viewable. The bottom half of the screen is perfect. Does anyone know if this a a common problem with this model and, if so is it cost effective to repair or upgrade to new TV?
Many Thanks, Dez. |

A common fault on PDP's is the X-SUS and Y-SUS boards (part of the PDP itself, but usually available separately), it might need one, or both, replacing.
I've no idea of cost though (and no way of finding out), or even if spares are still available, as Pioneer pulled out of TV manufacture a fair time ago. Certainly by five years old a LOT of Plasma spares are obselete. |
