Have they no access to the internet?

I always wonder have they no access to the internet, I mean it would make some tasks so much easier, but they seem to only have telephone books etc.
But yet they have mobiles.
I wonder how they stop the candidates getting info off the net when its so freely avaiable everywhere.

I mean for example, trying to find a "cloche" or finding suppliers retailers etc.

Are they so closeted during the filming weeks that they cannot even access emails or any other communication avenues.

Although it's never been stated, we believe that they are not allowed access to the 'net.

At no time have we ever seen anyone use it and their actions in certain tasks very clearly imply that they have not been able make use of common 'net facilities.

my understanding is that for the majority of tasks there is no internet access allowed, but occasionally, the app one of this series springs to mind, it is allowed.

I assume that they also are also forbidden from carrying and using their own personal mobiles, even when they go back to the house at night because obviously the tasks are spread over a couple of days, so they can't just 'phone a friend' I am curious as to how far this extends, I think it has been mentioned that there are 'rest'days so I wonder if they are allowed contact with friends and family then?

While I don't want The Apprentice to turn into a version of Big Brother by any means I am curious sometimes about how they get on together in the house

I never want to know how they get on in the house. Even without knowing it, some idiot forum members have treated this forum like some kind of tacky big brother forum.

Some are here just to bash without providing any balanced argument / constructive criticism.

well, I'd like to know more
One hour a week doesn't seem nearly enough, esp if some characters aren't getting much viewing time.

I did hear they aren't allowed any alcohol this season for some reason or other.

I think Ruth Badger said that their own mobiles were locked away during the tasks, but as others have stated, they were allowed on their rest days to use them.

I remember in season 3, Tre was looking on google for one of the tasks. I think it was a dog related task.

If they had google, they'd be able to find the thousands of threads on DS that ask this very same question, year in year out

As Human123 says, I believe Tre has enjoyed a very special unique Apprentice experience - he's the only candidate afaik to have ever googled something.

Presumably it was a plot point that the producers wanted to add to the mix, without realising the shockwaves it would send through show
