DTI 6300 failing to boot every day
Every morning now for the last 10 days or so, ive had to pull the plug from the wall and back in again before the box will boot and work. After that, it works fine, but when i try to boot it from standby over night, it just displays the red standby light and will not boot up.
Can you help? |

Almost certainly a failing internal Power Supply. Easy and cheap to fix if you or a friend can solder. There are two caps in particular that fail in these units.
If you follow the posts in this thread, you will see the photos of the two in question. If my theory is correct, Satcure sell replacements that are unlikely to ever fail again as they are far higher quality. Avoid slightly cheaper stuff from places like Maplin as they are no better than the originals. Good luck. |

Good luck. Post back here when you have done that and let me know how it goes.

I had a similar problem. My box failed to boot at all. I purchased two new capacitors and soldered them on to the circuit board myself. It was very easy and for the cost of just under £5 (Capacitors and P&P) I now have a box that works perfectly !
