hi, need some help as to whether a mobile phone booster would be helpful in boosting the signal and speed of our dongle, we are in the Hatherleigh/Holsworthy area of Devon, it makes your eyes ache waiting for pages to load

can you reccommend what type, and do you think they are effective,

any info would be appreciated

if i have posted in the wrong forum please advise

digital spy members have always been very helpful to us in the past

There isn't really any form of booster that you can get like this in the UK.

You might be able to use a USB Extension cable to put the dongle in a place closer to a window or higher up in the room which could improve the signal, but there's no guarantee it would have a noticeable impact.

You could get a cable like that from an online retailer like Amazon:

or a shop like PC World/Comet

Have you tried opera mini? It is good for slow speeds, though you can lose some website functionality.

Most things that are sold to boost phone signal are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Femtocels can be effective but they only work at your home and use your home broadband connection to connect to the mobile network so are a bit pointless in this situation.

If you aren't in contract I'd suggest looking for an alternative network which has better signal where you need it to
