New 3 Handset Question

If i bought a new 3 handset would i be able to use my current 3 sim card in it or do you have to use the one provided with the phone?

As living proof of this, I bought a Threepay Nokia 7600 a few months back and use that with my Three contract usim instead of the crap Nec phone that I originally had.

Three still think I have the Nec as they mentioned it when I last spoke to them.

Works fine for me and stopped me having to use the Nec phone. Following that experience, I will NEVER EVER buy or use another Nec handset EVER again in my life and will also do my best to make sure that no one that I know does either to avoid them the problems that I had with possibly the worst phone I've ever owned or used in my life.
