LG 42" 2 Vertical Faint Lines On Screen
Seems this is a very common problem as i have 2 faint vertical lines on my screen that have appeared
![]() If you look Here and Here then you'll know what i mean. Panel banding is mentioned a lot here. My tv is just only 2 years old and starting this problem, you should not have to spend £100's of a tv and get this problem after a couple of years or so my lines are just right of centre and one near the left of the panel, it looks like a water streak

Same thing happened to my son in laws Samsung. I would be inclined to approach the retailer who sold you the set using the SOGA regulations. These give you rights for up to 6 years, such a failure within 2yrs or so mean the goods can't possibly be fit for purpose.

Obviously I haven't seen your TV but if its a plasma its likely to need the screen its self replacing but if yours is a LCD it could be the screen or the printed circuit board that sits just behind the screen -- sometimes these boards are available on there own but on some you have to buy the 2 items together . In either case its going to be expensive probably more than buying a new budget TV !
The SOGA could help but you would have to prove that it was a inherent fault , how old is your TV ? |

Ah you did
First port of call should be to ask the original retailer to inspect it and diagnose the problem .

Well got onto the retailer and they mentioned the sale of goods act 1979 which i mentioned to them, they are organising a case on this issue and sending someone out to take it away soon. It's going to cost me £60 for them to take it and try a repair, if it's FUBAR they will send me a voucher to what it would cost today to get the same tv. Grrr it cost me £670 at the time 2 years ago and now i could lose half that as the price would come down and me fork out extra to buy a better one
![]() ![]() ![]() I could also be without a tv for a month ![]()
