I disagree. Her singles flop and her albums don't sell very much. Her new album hasn't even reached 500,000 copies.

I'm showing my age (once again!) but Jeff Lynne's group The Idle Race were brilliant, though had very little success.

Another vote for Nadine Coyle here - massively underrated!!

I love Robyn but she's kind of borderline for me in the "not so successful" act - she has done pretty well (nowhere near as well as she should do!!) but I guess she is kind of more critically acclaimed...

Beverley Knight never seems to have got the success she deserves...

Natalia Kills (Although I can see her becoming popular very soon)

t.A.T.u. (Everyone just knows this duo as 'those two lesbians that did that song' .. where as I followed their music till they disbanded earlier this year after releasing another 2 english albums :P )

f(x) - Not sucessful in this country anyway a south-korean girl group, I think they're amazing

I know you like Remedy but thankfully New in Town was also top 20 here.

Success has sadly been rather limited so far for Joshua Radin and Lissie among other recent acts.

I wish Laura White had done better but a consolation is that she is my fave one-hit-wonder of the 21st century so far.

Beverley Knight definitely, have never understood why she hasn't had more success in terms of record sales.

Was We Are Born her last album?

I've just started listening to it on grooveshark.

I'll give a verdict when I've finished.

I think she was relying on her work with Christina Aguilera to break into the mainstream. Shame, in that respect, that Bionic sold badly.

ETA - Erm...It's okay. maybe I'd like it more after a few listens.

Someone mentioned FeFe Dobson.

I've found some of her music on grooveshark (from her self-titled album) and I really like it. The only problem is that I'm finding it very difficult to find a physical copy of her album. I've looked on lots of sites expecting to find it.

ETA - I've found it on Amazon. It's a brand new copy but it's coming from another customer, if that makes sense. Not coming straight from amazon. Someone is selling on the site.

Picked it up for a tiny price too.

Oh I forgot about that song I think Earthquake was the single that didn't do so well.

^ Some good bands there

At the moment The National are the best "unknown" band in the world http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KhGUE_KjIo

Last year I would have said Arcade Fire but they are massive now

For me my all time fav band are Runrig who have had 13 studio albums out since 1978, 5 live albums, 4 comp (which band agree to) and 28 singles but have never had the success cause only 2 of there singles have made the top 20. Others i like is

Seth Lakeman
Brad Paisley (Massive in USA)
Hunters and Collectors (was big in Australia) and
Johnny Hallyday (biggest selling artist in French music history) has had 49 studio albums out in France since 1960 and over 200 singles released in France alone. Loads of live albums and comp albums released too. But hasn't released anything here really since the 60's

I was thinking I wonder would Marina and the Diamonds be classed as a "not so successful" act? I don't think Shampain and Oh No! did that well, or am I wrong? What about her other singles and her album?
