Right well, I'm going to start an appreciation thread for these guys since they are my favourite band and their new album is due out this year! (I looked through some older threads, but they weren't all very appreciative lol)

Amy Lee's vocals are stunning and I don't know how many people are aware, but their new single has had a clip posted along with a short interview over at MTV.com - the single is called "What You Want"

Their new album is due for release in the UK Oct 10th, and the US Oct 11th!

I was going to do this earlier

Anyway, I LOVE the clip of their new single. It sounds awesome. I think I already prefer it to Call Me When Your Sober. I'm glad they've progressed their sound. So excited for the full single/album

What You Want sounds EPIC!!!!!! I believe they're gonna be massive this time around. Just over 2 weeks til the full song premiers. Although with the recent attack of leaked songs from other artists, I think it might come earlier.

It's good knowing that so many big music stations are showing their support for EV.... MTV, Kerrang! etc.

Gutted the album has been pushed back though.

"Hello, Hello... remember me? I'm everything you can't control" - love that lyric

It's only been pushed back a week. But I think Wind-up intended the date to be the 11th in the beginning anyway because the article says they 'corrected MTV'.

NEW SONG SNIPPET TOMORROW GUYS! Can't wait! Wonder which one it is.

EvClub has also been updated with some of Amy's sketches of the 'visual theme' for the album which is Oceans. I love how cut the little octopuses are

What You Want
My Heart Is Broken
The Other Side
Made of Stone
Lost in Paradise
Oceans
Sick
Kraken
A New Way To Bleed
Understanding (I'm PRAYING this is the one from their 1st EP)
Secret Door
Say You Will
The End of the Dream
Swimming Home
Vanilla (working title)
Orange (working title)
I'm loving the sound of The Other Side, very heavy!

And I hope and pray that 'Understanding' is from the EP too but I doubt it cause it would mean having to credit Ben Moody on the liner notes in the sleeve so I doubt it will happen.

What You Want snippet now on Amazon, it sounds sooo good! I'm loving the backing vocals! Actually sounds like a better lead single than CMWYS did! The structure of that (While I do love it) was a bit mental for a single, it had like 3 different songs in it lol!

I haven't seen it, even though Amy lee looks so good you'd fake your own death in front of her so she could bring you to life....bet it's great.

New snippet, this one from Lost in Paradise. I can already tell this one will be an all-time fave. That bit where the band kicks in blew me away!

FINALLY, we have some tour dates!

Quote:
“EVANESCENCE announce first UK tour for 4 years

Following a three-year sabbatical after the multi-platinum, worldwide success of their sophomore effort, The Open Door, Evanescence went into the studio on April 11th this year to begin recording their third studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz, whose recent producing credits include Foo Fighters, RUSH, Stone Sour, Deftones and Alice in Chains. It is due to be released in the fall on Wind Up/EMI.

Now they are to tour the UK for the first time since 2007. Kicking off at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 4th November, they finish up in Birmingham on the 13th, before heading over to mainland Europe. Singer Amy Lee commented: “We're dying to come back to the UK and play the new music for our fans. Can't wait!"

The dates in full are:

November 2011

FRI 4th London HMV Hammersmith Apollo

MON 7th Manchester 02 Apollo

TUE 8th Glasgow Academy

THU 10th Plymouth Pavilions

SAT 12th Leeds 02 Academy

SUN 13th Birmingham 02 Academy

Doors are 7pm apart from Leeds which is 6.30.

Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 29th July priced at £28.50 regionally and £29.50 London (subject to booking fee), available for purchase from www.livenation.co.uk”

I think they did this last time round, they start with Theatre dates then see how the album does - then go on to do bigger gigs (eg. Co-Headlining the Family Values Tour in 2007). The only reason we didn't get them back last time round was because of all the drama within the band, and them basically scrapping everything after Good Enough was (not) released.

So I wouldn't worry, they'll probably go on to do a full big World tour after the 3rd/4th single

I got my ticket for Manchester yesterday (EvClub perk lol) I wonder how quickly it'll sell - I reckon it probably won't sell out until August when What You Want is released (unless there are a LOT of die-hard Ev fans still in the UK!)

You'd be surprised how many die hard fans there are here...The Open Door got to number 2 in album charts back in 2006, and they didn't get to number 1 because The Killers released their album the same week!

Also well done darkjedimaster on getting your tickets, the perks of knowing someone on O2!!

I am quite surprised that I was able to get a ticket through that method as my mum isn't a contract customer, so great to know that PAYG users can have the priority thing as well. It should be a great event, especially with the support act being "The Pretty Wreckless".

Just under 4 months wait . Will have to dig out my Anywhere but home DVD.

Oh I know, but if the 'core' fanbase were all of a similar age - everyone will be in their 20s now and some may have 'moved on' since Fallen/TOD, I know the fanbase still had a big shift after the 2nd album! I'm just wondering whether those 'die hard' fans who are waiting to see what the material is like OR if they'll just buy tickets anyway

I definitely think Ev are still very relevant, don't think I'm thinking they've lost touch or anything
