How do I connect tv, freeview recorder, dvd player?
Ok - here goes.
My parents have a tv, with built in dvd player. They also have a freeview recorder box and a video player/recorder (only used for playback now). The tv's built in dvd is no longer working and I bought them a separate dvd player. Obviously, they originally had the freeview recorder plugged into the tv and only plugged in the video player if the wanted to watch a tape. Now we don't know how to connect in the dvd player along with the freeview recorder. If my memory serves me well, each item has only one scart socket. I had thought a scart box would solve the problem - plug into tv, two sockets, one for dvd player, one for freeview, but my step father says this doesn't work. Seems if they want to watch a dvd, they need to remove the freeview recorder box from the equation. Unfortunately I live in Edinburgh and they live in Aberdeen, so not so easy to help out from a distance. Any help would be appreciated |

What kind of SCART box? Sounds like this a SCART splitter being used the wrong way round. What is needed is a SCART switch box.
