I currently have my Humax box on top of a cabinet as using the remote you need to be pretty much front on. Is there any way of connecting some sort of magic eye or other device to enable the box to be inside a cupboard and out of the way? Cheers.

I bought this for my Humax and it works fantastically.
One of the reasons I got it was because the infra-red receiver is on a separate cable rather than part of the box that contains the gubbins. Pretty cheap too compared to some of the others of its ilk.

Also make sure you've opened the front flap and removed the second piece of protective film from over the display and IR sensor.
