I know this may not be to everyone's taste, but where in Scotland would be the best place to try a Deep Fried Mars Bar & Deep Fried Ice Cream?

Never had it.......want to try it!

I'm not going anywhere near Scotland in the future but would love to try some of their delicacies.

I know they do Deep Fried Mars Bars in Hayes, on the main road near The Grapes pub because I have had one. Delicious!

It's in the West of London, about 10 miles from Wembley Stadium

Most local chip shops should do them.

If not, buy a Mars Bar, ask them to dip it in batter and fry it until the batter cooks.

Don't get the king sized mars bars!

You can't. You'll have to staple the two parts of a Mars duo together, and that's just too much like hard work.

As for the OP, I've been looking round here for a place which does deep fried mars bars but have had no luck. It's actually the deep fried battered pizza that I really want to try.

I didn't know that.

However there is a kebab shop near the Grapes that I have actually found that does a decent kebab.

I wouldn't mind trying Deep Fried Ice Cream, do they flash fry it or something, it would have to be quick to prevent the ice cream melting.

I quite like hot and cold together in foods, it is really lovely sensation.

I had a deep fried pizza from a van that used to drive around the area, it wasn't battered though, it was kinda like a semi frozen pizza dunked into hot oil. Tasted good, but i swear i could hear my arteries clogging up as i was eating it!

Just deep fried as normal I think. The batter protects it.

I've had it, it's nothing that exciting, bit like a profiterole.

Stonehaven, a small town about 15 miles south of Aberdeen is where the dish was invented, so it is to deep fried Mars Bars what Bordeaux is to wine.

Yeah, it's run by Asians... you come right out of Church Road (the right hand exit as you look at the opposite side of the road) then cross the road. It's about a few minutes walk up that parade of shops, it has a yellow frontage if I recall correctly. I has 2 Samosas, chips and a deep fried Mars Bar when I went to the footy at Hayes (now sadly demolished for a poxy housing estate)

Only other place I saw them was in the Lake District, which was where I discovered them. I really want to try deep fried cadburys creme eggs!

Thanks for that.

I think the football ground is going to be the old Yeading ground once it's been rebuilt.

Never seen that done before in my puff, it's not a typical Glaswegian thing at all, and certainly not "the industry standard" as said in the video.

Yes, it is. Sharing at Woking FC for this season. Church Road was a cracking ground though and will be sadly missed
