Melanie C's 'Think About It': Music video

Melanie has updated her website (http://www.melaniec.net/) with some news!

We are incredibly excited to announce Melanie's brand new single - 'Think About It'. Taken from the forthcoming album 'The Sea', the track was written in Copenhagen with Adam Argyle and new collaborators the Cutfather team - who also produced the song.
The single is a fresh sound for Melanie; an elevating chorus and enriching melody, basked in light and colour is perfect for the summer. Similarly the video provides the song with a varied canvas - bursts of vivid colour and imagery - that's if you can try and take your eyes off Melanie in a selection of stunning outfits. The 'Think About It' music video will premiere exclusively on MelanieC.net this Friday at 11am UK / 12:00 CET. Make sure you tune in!

'Think About It' will be released in late August/early September, depending on your territory. Keep posted to MelanieC.net for confirmed dates. Also make sure you 'like' Melanie on Facebook, as we'll be posting some exclusive sneak peaks leading up to the video premiere on Facebook only!

Also DS have also covered the story:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...-about-it.html

Melanie C will premiere her new single 'Think About It' this week.

The former Spice Girl will debut the track on her official website on July 15. It will serve as the second single to be taken from her upcoming fifth studio album The Sea, which is due to be released later this year.

The track was written in Copenhagen with Adam Argyle and the Cutfather team, who have also produced the song. Mel C tweeted that she was recording the song back in April.

The music video will premiere alongside the track at 11am BST this Friday, and is scheduled for a late August/early September release, with dates varying depending on territory.

A confirmed UK release date will be announced shortly.

The 37-year-old singer-songwriter recently released the video for her Women's World Cup track 'Rock Me', which she shot in Manchester earlier this year.

Cant wait!!

Is she gonna release it here in the UK? she tends to only release her music in obscure places like Bulgaria/Outer Mongolia nowadays

Yep, she said after 'Rock Me' wasn't released that future singles would have a UK release

I can't wait to hear the song and see the video. I can't tell too much from the Facebook preview but it has a cool guitar sound. I know Melanie does a lot of different types of music, but I think the guitar based rock stuff suits her voice and persona the best.

I agree to some extent about her guitar stuff being the best, but even I Turn To You which is a dance track sounds awesome live!

I like the fact she does different genres of music, makes it more excitingI

Not long to go until the premiere, and her website has been taken down for an update, so looks like we will be getting a new website too

I love Melanie and I really wanted to love this. I think it's cute with a nice lyric but I'm not blown away by it. Sorry. I was expecting more of a pop/rock song and it's more dance. I guess she's moving away from her more credible rock/indie sound, back to more what the Spice Girls would do. I guess she feels her only audience is old Spice Girls fans. But for me who never really liked the Spice Girls, but like more her solo albums it's a little bit of a let down.
I can't see this being a bit hit for her at all. The pop/dance arena is too overcrowded right now for her to stand out.

Her new single is better than Rock Me

But she still hasn't released anything as good as Never Be The Same Again

Absolutely love it! This could do well for her, if the radio stations get behind her, and she promotes it well.

The video is also one of her best aswell!

I have been listening to Think About It all day, on first listen I thought it would be a grower but it has had an immediate impact for sure.

I've never been a huge fan of Melanie C but I just watched the video at Perez because he has written an enthusiastic entry about it... Have to say I really like it - the song is pretty radio friendly and the video is stunning. She looks great nowadays. I think if radio 2 got behind this song she could have her first top 10 in the UK for a while. Impressed.

Okay I've totally changed my mind about this song. I didn't care for it too much at first, but I love it now. Just like Rock me. The direction is a little different for her, but it works!

This ain't gonna be a hit. She should realise the record company were right to dump her all those years ago. She ain't had a hit since she's been on her own label.

So what if it isn't? She still has her fans who enjoy her work. She still likes writing and performing. Why do you want to stop her from doing what she loves. Why are you so negative not just about Melanie but Madonna? If people are older but still love making music, why should they quit? Why do you want to take away people's happiness.

Even if it isn't a hit, she still has a dedicated enough core fanbase (me included), that will buy the album and go to one (or more) of her fantastic live shows!

Success (chart wise) isn't everything, and as long as she's happy making great music for her fans then so be it!

Saying that, I would love her to be back in the charts where she belongs, and this song/album could be the time it happens, as long as the radio stations get behind her, and the public get behind her. Her success in Blood Brothers has done wonders for her already fantastic voice aswell, so the live shows will be phenomenal.

And, have you heard Beautiful Intentions? (Her 3rd album, and 1st released by her own label) Its excellent!

I agree! But I think Cha Cha heels is someone who just wants to cause trouble. They aren't going to actually listen to one of her records! They were also in the Madonna thread saying she has had her day and should quit too. So I think Melanie is in pretty good company!

Just had a first listen and I really like it. Grown tired of her foray into indie rock music and it's nice to see her comeback with something a bit different. Don't think she's back to a poppy sound, it's certainly more mature than what you hear currently and I really like the video. Reminds somehow of Kylie's Chocolate and Kelis's 4th July...

The size of a venue has nothing to do with the quality of the show. Not everyone can play a stadium. You don't enjoy any artist that plays in smaller clubs or bars? You are missing out on a lot of great artists.
