I thought that Tom looked the most stressed in the snippets that we saw! Maybe he has told a lot of porkies! Can't wait for Sunday and the final!”

Good Post Darcyprincess......For me it was Helen all the way......It's the product that sells and her decision to make small pies of 'best quality' for me won the punters round...it was an ideal product to get over the counter 'fast food' ...Well Done Helen...I hope she wins.....

Maybe, but we did see Helen, sit down (on her own) with a calculator, and work out the food costs. She did also talk about profit margins. So not sure if then her and Tom went through them later.

She also tasted the food and Tom did the plan which Nick mentioned.

can't it have simply been a synergy? two people who were able to trust that the other was not going to fk up? it was a rare bit of teamwork.

They worked well together but I got the impression that Helen was keeping Tom on a very tight leash throughout the task and that if something had gone wrong she'd have used it to have him kicked off the show in the boardroom, she even started to say as much in the boardroom when she said she'd wanted to do the branding but had decided to 'trust' it to Tom!

Her best decision was learning from Zoe's mistake in the biscuit task and not letting Tom anywhere near the food! His pie's would have been a disaster whereas she made a very good high quality product. That coupled with Tom's ideas for the name, pie names and design of the store made them a really good team. I think Tom contributed a lot to this task but Helen would have used his contribution to her advantage whether they had won or lost so I don't think it's true teamwork.

It was an amost perfect task, they were both excellent and performed fantasticaly.....contrast that with the other team.

They did not have to do much for this task. The interior designer decked the place out and the chef made all the pies. It was a simple meal easily dished out. My only concern would be not running out of hot pies. A pretty short task.

Another boring, grasping, anti-Helen thread.

They won as a team.

Tom doesn't enjoy the responsibility of being PM or having to behave like an alpha male, its not his strong point.
Helen thrives on it and loves to be in control.
Nice concept - Helen
Quality ingredients - Helen
Customer service ethos - Helen
Brand name - Tom
Product names - Tom (Columbus error was toe curlingly cringeworthy)
Service delivery - Tom

*****Team effort

I agree, but it's a shame Helen didn't see it that way. Her comments seem to suggest that she saw Tom nothing more than her personal assistant. Both did a really good job with this week's task.

I like to think that if she had been managing that team, she'd have split them up. Probably Susan would do an OK job of branding on her own, and Natasha's experience would have been useful in the kitchen. Notice, for example, it was Susan who identified and attempted to fix Jim's ordering system.

I agree that Tom would likely lose without Helen. He was only had three wins, and in all of them he was with Helen. For two of them she was his PM.

Yes, the only time Helen ever lost was in the previous week's Flip It task, where the team was Melody, Helen, Tom. However, Tom was mostly off on his own, not working closely with Helen.

I felt that was largely down to Helen designing a system that could be served quickly, and taking the trouble to debug it with a trial run-through even before the official test run started. She's good at organising.

I said a while back the Tom needed a good manager to thrive, and that Helen would be perfect for him. Probably my ideal result now would be for Susan to win, and Helen and Tom to go into business together without Lord Sugar. I'm sure they'll have no trouble raising investment money.
