Will Helen not winning be one of the great Apprentice moments
DUNDEEBOY

She is fourth by some distance for me and incredibly smug.

If she doesnt win for whatever reason it will be one of the great Apprentice moments for me.

It is true her business plan involves a factory that build fembots as female contestants for reality shows

The last line makes me think you are joking, but if you meant the rest: All the candidates have shown poor qualities, but in my opinion Helen has acted the most sensibly and professionally, and she has the most reason to be proud.

She did very well in the fast food task. She was nervous but allowed Tom hands on with the creative branding as she admitted he had the experience to be good at it. She focussed on creating the product (which we learnt from the biscuit task, Sugar believes is vital). There have been moments where she has been negative: the coup for instance, however so have all the other candidates (bar Tom I guess, but he is unusually nice) and she atleast has only 1 loss, and a win for every time she PM'ed to support herself.

Totally understand people having other favourites etc. (I actually like Susan, Tom and Helen equally) but some of the criticism for Helen seems very unfounded. Now we just have to see if her business model is any good.

To me she has shown herself to be the best of the four.

Consistent
Cool and level headed
Great Pitches
Good sales Technique
Gets on well with others and is a strong leader.
Good Product and marketing knowledge.
Good with figures

Totally agree with this. The only bit of her I dislike is her slight low handed bitchiness in the Board Room. Never minded before as I disliked the people she was with, but Tom is so nice was a bit cruel of her I have to say

I agree with this, but she's not a team player.

She clearly saw the task as a showcase of her skills and abilities, with Tom merely as her assistant. I laughed when she talked about putting a lot of trust in Tom to do well. It didn't seem to occur to her that Tom was putting in a lot of trust in her to do well with food. She also doesn't like criticisms and being held responsible for her mistakes. She was clearly ready to throw Tom under a bus in the board room. She's very ambitious and has a huge ego, but then again one has to have both to make it this far.

I don't dislike Helen, but especially in the early part of the competition, I think she got really lucky with the teams she was on. Don't get me wrong, a 10-1 record is amazing, but I don't think she's anywhere near as good as contestants from yesteryear...

Her MyPy pitch wasn't that great, and then when Tom was trying to help her out of a spot, she accuses him of 'putting her off'. I wasn't impressed with that.

I'm trying not to be nasty, but I think that Helen is so self controlled she comes over as a touch robotic.

Yes! I said the same this to my husband. I had liked Helen up to this point, but I went right off her when I saw her in the Boardroom. She gave Tom no where near the credit he deserved for MyPy.

I don't really know what to make of her.
Watching the final five, really confused me.
She was extremely studious and got a law degree, then seemed to become a complete party girl gave up her career and worked in bars then she became a PA, and dresses extremely conservatively, as if trying to completely cover up who she was.
The transformation struck me as a bit odd. To go from being sexy/girly to austere and aloof, I don't know why but something doesn't quite fit together for me?

As regards the tasks she's done great, but the more we see of her, I dunno she seemed REALLY stressed this week, like she's dropping the facade somewhat, I feel like we have no idea who the real Helen is.

In saying that I'm not judging who I want to win until I see the business plans. How can you judge before knowing what their proposals are?

Me neither, that was a really nasty thing to say in the middle of a pitch. Tom was actually the one who came up with a lot of good points in that pitch and when she started floundering she used him to make her look better.

Then there was the line in the boardroom where she was sarcastic about Tom not giving her a chance to speak. Not to mention last week's boardroom line.

I think Helen's business sense is very good and although she has been lucky she's demonstrated some good business skills too. I'm starting to doubt her people skills though and suspect that she wouldn't actually be a nice person to work with or particularly for!

To be fair, as regards this part, her sister posted briefly on this forum; I forget exactly what she said, but it was something along the lines of the Apprentice stylists giving her a look that was more austere than she would otherwise have chosen for herself.

Aw, poor Tom. He was clearly just on a high because he knew the task had gone well. No need for both LS and Helen to smack him down.

Given Helen's track record, unless the interviews throw up some really bad things, it will be a travesty if she loses now - especially if its to Tom who's record on the show is very poor.

I don't buy that, none of the other girls dress so sternly, I'm sure they can have as much input as they want into how they dress.

Dont like her. She is a nasty so and so. She makes up for her lack of talent by being aggressive amd startles people with her concealed aggression.

The role that she is after is as leader, not member, and for that her strengths make her the ideal candidate.

She's still the front-runner for me, with Tom coming up at the right moment but Susan could still pull off a shock.

Jim is the rank outsider for me. I could be totally wrong but I believe he's been kept in for the fun of the interviews.

I corrected your post. I assumed you were writing about Jim and there was a fault with your keyboard or auto-correct.

It's not how you start, it's how you finish.

I think Tom should have been out the week Leon went out (and, on that subject, I think it would have been interesting to see how Leon handled the fast food task ........................... or maybe that was the reason he was fired at the first reasonable opportunity) but he's proved himself since.

I think it will be great only if you're not a Helen fan.

To be honest though, despite her record, her edit has been boring and uninspiring (being invisible probably longer than any other candidate) and the only task she lost and made huge mistakes in, the edit exposed her as rather poor as much as it could.
As the winner she looks good on paper, but not in terms of the way she's been portrayed.
Even Karren said that Lord Sugar's particularly looking for someone with some fire, which is really not a description of Helen I don't think.
With her AMAZING record, the edit could, and should, have been much better. If she was the winner, I'd have certainly showed her off more.

Helen will not be winning. It will be Tom. LAS needs him as a innovative partner to create the next Dyson. Helen will be offered a backroom job in the office if she wants it. This is about going into partnership with LAS and Helen and the other candidates apart from Tom are poor. Helen has won mainly through having tasks she has been comfortable with. The one she failed proved that she lacks experience selling but is good at organising. LAS does not want that and it will show in the interviews. He has already made his mind up as he goes on a gut feeling and that is Tom.

fryup, you seem to be mixing up words and reality. Tom says he is going to be the next Dyson, but he has done nothing in the tasks so far to suggest that he will. Sugar likes him, but won't chose him ahead of the easy money to be made from Susan.

I didn't like the way she treated Tom this week at all. There was no need for the constant reminders that she was in charge. They should have been working together. I hope she doesn't win now.

I really liked Helen up until last week where I thought she came across badly - quite smug and a bit bitchy.

I want Tom or Suzy to win

Another boring anti-Helen thread.

Is this board so desperate for a female villain that it has to turn on Helen? While Zoe was in she was the most "vile, evil bully" in Apprentice history...until she went on You're Fired and suddenly it was "Zoe isn't so bad, EVIL MELODY WAS MUCH WORSE!" Then the completely arrogant, smug upherself bullshitter Melody was the most hated...until she was on You're Fired and it was "Melody isn't so bad, HELEN IS SMUG AND NASTY TO POOR SWEET INNOCENT TOM WHO WOULD NEVER FIGHT TO SURVIVE IN THE BOARDROOM OF COURSE, I HATE HER!"

Give me a break.
