Anyone know why some of the clips i save to favourites on my laptop don't show up in the list of favourites when I access you tube via the TV?

Probably because the favourites info. is actually being saved on your laptop.

It's not that. Some of the ones I save automatically appear in the list via the TV and others don't. Those videos also don't show up when I do a search via the TV.

do you have to log onto your youtube account when using the tv ?

I'm permanently logged onto it. I must try logging on via the home cinema to see if that makes a difference.

If they have adverts or are copy protected then you generally can't access them anywhere other than a computer. They don't have the technology in place yet to be able to show the adverts on other mediums.

They don't have adverts. I've googled this question and it's been asked by others but no one seems to know the answer other than that they don't play to iphones either so it could have something to do with TV/blu-rays etc being classsed as a 'portable device'.

Why not download the youtube content and save them as mpeg-4 files , then they will play on virtually anything .

Saving the links is just like saving a sign post to something

How do you download you tube content?

I have a funny feeling its all down to copyright issues. I connect via the sony bravia online functions and am not allowed access to channel 4 content etc that should be accessible from a UK based server. So I can only think that the sony servers are not UK based or are explicitly filtering copyright material so as not to annoy content providers copyrights. Which is frankly annoying at times....

Sounds plausible.
