Hummus

I have some left over and was wondering if there was anything interesting to do with it rather than just use it as a dip.

Give it it's own TV show?

Put it on the Loose Women panel. You'd probably get more interesting, intelligent conversation

Pitta pocket with hummus and roast veg (carrot, aubergine, onion, mushroom, garlic) is a wonderful lunch. Have it quite often. Then eat it whilst watching your favourite TV show

I love it on hot toast for breakfast, especially home made houmous.

My guilty pleasure is to spread it thickly on toast and then top with baked beans

Here you go a fair few ideas

What is crazy is if you search Hummus you get a lot of recipes (most calling it Houmous) however if you search Houmous you only get two

Anyway have a gander might be something that catches your eye.

Or try this http://www.supercook.com/ I've already put in Hummus but you can put in other ingredients and it will provide you with recipes!

There's a couple of lamb recipies there. I might do one of them. It seems to go with lamb. I had it with minted lamb burgers last night.

If I have a little bit leftover I often use it up as a simple but effecitive dressing for a basic chicken salad. Little dollop over the top of most salads work quite well.

Baked tattie is always good with hummus, but perhaps not so much in July.

What exactly does tofu taste of?

(and don't say "tofu"!)

I didn't realise there were so many hummus fans out there I make my own, but when I haven't got the time or the inclination Morrisons do some nice ones, especially their "Moroccan" one.

Those lamb recipes look tasty, cheers badcompany. I didn't know what to do for dinner, but I think I'll do the grilled lamb with hummus mash

Tofu is tasteless unless it's marinated

I liked this thread in the olden days (nostalgic sob ) when it was in TV progs as I thought it was about some new news quiz, with edgy word play on Humorous.

()

<Ok, bad but not as bad as some TV progs. >

My absolutely favourite use of hummus is smeared inside a hot wrap with falafel and lots of salad and yoghurt and chilli sauce and a bit of tahini and salt and hot sauce with those green lanky peppers.

Chickpea on chickpea, I know, but mmm!

Love hummus. I think its one of the few foods that tastes better shop bought rather than home-made. I can never get it to taste as good - even forking out money on tahini paste didnt make it taste any nicer!!
