My BT Vision box has been playing up recently. The MUX2 channels (ITV1/2, C4 etc) have been unwatchable for the last 7-10 days.

I tried the same aerial into my IDTV tonight and that can receive the same channels fine.

I've tried switching the Vision box off & on again, retuning, with and without an aerial in, but no difference.

I have an original silver Vision box, and my aerials pointing to Crystal Palace.

The only thing I haven't tried is a full factory reset, but I don't want to lose my recordings

Can someone please advise what I can try next please?

Thanks, DP.

Has full digital switch over taken place where you are?

I have heard that those in the middle of a switch over have experienced issues as the signal strength of some channels has been reduced.

Other than that - In terms of the Vision STB - it's input splits the signal strength and leads to problems at times. If this has just started happening it could indicate a problem with the tuners and a factory reset wouldn't do any good.

I'd try a booster and see if it helps. Would def investigate if you are mid switchover though.

Thanks for the reply.

No, Crystal Palace switch over is next year, so it shouldn't be that.

Good call on the dual tuner, and split signal. It could mean that a weak signal that's okay on my IDTV, becomes too weak for the Vision box.

I think the transmitter is currently on low power for MUX2, according to this website...

This has just started happening again!

Fine on my IDTV, but no picture on the BTVision box.

On the "problem" channels signal strength is 75%, signal quality is 10%

I'm on Belmont - digital switchover next week. The Vision box is terrible at the moment - funny that the integrated freeview in the TV doesn't suffer this.

I have a similar issue but with channels like dave & dave+1.

On BT vision they dont appear at all. Switch over to my TV with integrated freeview and they arent there either.

However whenever I have BT vision on standby the channels appear fine on the TV.

Do you have a silver Vision box? If so then you may have the RF output channel set to the same channel as is used to carry MuxC (or Com5 if you've been DSO'd). That would cause what you've described. If so then you can switch off the RF modulator in the settings menu or change the channel to one which isn't used in your area.
