HI all,

got the very latest in terms of software, and noticed for the first time last night that series link recording seems to be broken. For all channels. Since nobody else seems to have reported this I presume it's a problem with my box, any idea what causes it and what I have to do to fix it???

Thanks!

Sometimes its the wrong id given and Ive only had that a couple of times in 2 years.

If its happening all the time then theres something wrong with your box.

Need a bit more info. Choose a programme in the epg that has the series link icon (top right). Press OK and choose the series link option. Press the schedule button on the remote (or yellow from the epg). Check the recording appears in the list with a series record icon. Watch the schedule list a few minutes before the recording is due to start, the timer icon should turn to a red r. After the recording the schedule should update to the next episode. If this does not happen the next thing to try is a factory reset.

Have you tried just cycling the power right off by unplugging from the mains socket, and then re-powering again? This has fixed quite a few random funnies for me over the years.

I've noticed it too on mine. I thought it was fauly but looking on here perhaps not.

Before the update....
1 - go into EPG
2 - scroll to program you want reminder/record
3 - click OK
4 - menu comes up allowing you to choose record once, record series or reminder.

After update:
1 - go into EPG
2 - 2 - scroll to program you want reminder/record
3 - click OK
4 - message "Please wait for receiving broadcast info"
5 - message goes away and nothing...

Cannot series record, cannot set a reminder. Can only scroll to the program and press the record button.

SW Version HPRSFCI 1.00.15
Update 08 Dec 2010

Pants.

You should be able to set a recording by pressing OK on an item in the guide once the "Receiving broadcast information" message has gone. I'd try doing a Freesat retune, and if that doesn't fix it, then follow Graham's advice above and perform a Factory Reset (you'll need to note down any existing items in your schedule though and re-instate them afterwards.)

Can you take your bitching somewhere please?

Getting back on topic...

Factory reset also does not work. I still have no method via EPG to get a series link. I cannot get a program reminder neither.

I don't want a workaround, I want it to work.

I've mailed Humax support, I'll post their reponse when (if) I get one.

Are you saying that Schedule then Red button does not take you to the cached EPG where you can set a Series Link?

It doesnt work as it did before, you can try schedule-red, trying while recording or during playback but theres not way to record until 45secs have passed when you press the EPG. Its broke.

I can now get it to record if I wait 30-40 seconds for the EPG to update. But still no reminder and no series link.

Anyone want to buy a Foxsat HDR? Think I'll go get a Freeview+ box. And not a Humax one.

Are you pressing the Record button or the OK button to set a recording from the EPG? Have you read the user guide that came with the box?

OK button from the OPG. No series link, no reminder.
Assuming that the programme starts in the future and is one of a series what exactly is displayed when you press OK [What options are listed].
Does Media display your recordings and do they play O.K.

How long have you had your HDR and for how long has it had this problem?

Does the programme you are trying to record have the series link icon at the top right of the epg. A rectangular icon with others offset behind it.

Try this, press the schedule button on the remote (lower left on the standard remote) and then RED.

Goto 108 at 19:15. What icons do you see Just above the date and time under the green All Channels.

Now press OK, You should see a screen saying the programme is available in HD or SD, assuming you do select the HD version and press OK.

You should now see three options the ones you appear to be missing.

Got this response from Humax CS:

"We are looking into speeding up this process, we don’t have a date yet for when this may be.".

So they know it's broken but don't know when it will be fixed....grrrrr.

Spotted another post elsewhere with problems setting a series link - but they also had an excessive 'Receiving Prog info" message (> 40 secs).

A freesat tune might not hurt.

Just to be clear - it's not normal for you to be unable to set a reminder or series link in the EPG after the EPG download has finished in 30-40 seconds. That's worked on my box ever since I installed the latest firmware.

Same problem here
Which same problem?

There are least two distinct ones being discussed here.
