For me personally, it is not a bad album. I quite like some of the songs but the album hasn't aged well for me. I had some of the songs on repeat for about a week (Sheibe, Government Hooker....) but after that, I had no real desire to listen to them.

The album for me is quite mediocre and didn't live up to the enormous hype that Gaga's team created around it.

What do you think?

I'm the same, I loved it and had it on repeat constantly. But then it kinda fizzled out, really quickly. I still listen to songs like Edge of Glory, Judas, and Hair, but the rest is just kinda meh.

I loved it and thought it was absolutely fantastic when I first heard it; some parts I thought were absolutely earth-shattering, but now I know it's barely broken a window, and that's already been replaced by Safestyle UK... you know the one! You buy one you get one free!

Yes it did. The album is an excellent display of revolutionary dance pop songs.

I said yes, it's a great album. I loved The Fame/Monster but I think BTW is a stronger album. Is it only me or is Gaga's voice different than it was in the Fame era?

Most of the songs (on The Fame) either had the autotune thing or they raised her voice a few keys.

Notice how Paparazzi is on the album and how it's live, the key change.

And Poker Face on album and live is different because of the autotune thing.

I am gonna go for Unsure

I tend not to get myelf hyped about albums. I do like the album. But it isn't any greater than The Fame. But i appreciate it's different from that album though.

Definitely. I was expecting a lot after The Fame Monster, but had a slight doubt over whether she could deliver the same standard of material over a full album (especially after the mess that was The Fame). I love every song though - even those I wasn't completely sure on at first, like Heavy Metal Lover, Bloody Mary, Electric Chapel and the bonus tracks have really grown on me over each listen.

Should've made a poll where you can see who voted for what, as I suspect some (not all) people who turn up and vote 'no' decided they hated the album before even listening to it.

I went for 'No, it didn't'
This album had such a huge hype machine behind it, that focus on the music was lost. Some songs on the album sound really alike, which is propostrous for an artist of her calibre and it all sounds like 90's hits re-heated, re-decorated, hyped and served

No for me. I loved TFM, but I find BTW hard to listen to and a bit repetitive. I like Judas, Edge of Glory, Marry The Night and Heavy Metal Lover (absolutely filthy lol). I could listen to them over and over again, but most of the album I just kinda ignore.

I wonder how many 'No''s are from Anti-Gaga fans and those who made up their minds before it came out...

Fairly indifferent to Marry the Night, Heavy Metal Lover, Electric Chapel, Government Hooker, Americano and Bloody Mary.

Like Scheiße, You and I, Born this way, Bad Kids and Highway Unicorn (despite it evoking fonder memories of Poker Face)

Love Judas, Hair and The Edge of Glory.

There's nothing in the same league as Bad Romance, and nothing quite as well-performed as Speechless.

Or from disgruntled ex Gaga fans who think she shouldn't have progressed from The Fame. For me, Judas and Edge ARE in the same league as Bad Romance as are Marry The Night and Schiebe.

May I ask how you came to that (ridiculous) conclusion?

Yeah - just look at Bloody Mary and Just Dance, or You & I and Beautiful Dirty Rich. Basically the same songs. I wish she'd change it up a bit.

I thought it was good when I first listened but on the second listen it didn't do it for me.
I like Edge Of Glory, Judas and You and I though.

I prefer The Fame Monster.

What's ridiculous about calling GaGa a one-trick pony? that's an opinion you are encouraged to challenge if you don't agree with it. I happen to think she's a bit of a one-trick pony because her music sounds the same. i do like her music for what it is but doesn't matter how many effects she'll add to it, how many beats she'll be able to cram in the 3mn song, the tunes are stuck in the same formula and it's become quite tedious to me...As for the original question, I voted 'no'. I listened to the album a few days ago on Youtube and I barely remember any of the songs apart from BTW, Judas and EOG. She certainly has created an atmosphere which is quite different from TFM & TF but the music is overall quite artificial and the messages all plain redondant...I suppose compared to TF/M which I thought was bold and refreshingly over the top, BTW is tacky, self-indulgent and a try-too-hard album.

In some ways it did. It's a great pop-dance album that I'd happily have blasting from my speakers, and would go crazy if a track from it was to come on in a club. However, I don't think there's one track that's so insanely catchy I could have it on repeat constantly. For me the Gaga track that does this is Telephone (I'd like to take this opportunity to ask, is it anyone elses favourite Gaga song? I swear I'm like, the only one who loves it). Others would say Bad Romance, others would say Poker Face. I just don't think there's anything on that level of quality. Whilst there were some dire tracks on The Fame and TFM had it's low points, the strength of other tracks equalled it out significantly. BTW doesn't have anything as bad as some of the stuff on her debut and is consistent, but I don't think it ever really reaches the heights Gaga has reached before.

As just a casual Lady Gaga listener, Telephone is also by far my favourite track of hers. I like it that much that I can't understand how so few people like it as much as I do, ha!

In response to the thread question - no I don't think it did. Whilst I do think it's a good album to listen to, there aren't really any stand-out tracks on it for me at all. Whereas in the past I have personally found Poker Face, Paparazzi and obviously Telephone as songs that I really enjoy listening to separate from the rest of the album.
