I just heard from a friend that they are playing at Hamilton Race Course tonight, their fee is £250K and 7000 tickets have been sold?

I thought WL were massive? But this a relatively small venue and its not sold out!

Is this a fall from grace or quite a good gig for them?

I'm not a fan of westlife, but I'm a fan of small gigs. It'll make a change from playing huge arenas I guess.

Don't think they're quite as popular as they used to be. JLS and The Wanted have stolen their crown somewhat! Greatest Hits 2 album out in November though.

They're not playing Hamilton until the 23rd of this month, they're playing Thetford Forest tonight, which is sold out: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-7NPLSX

They sell out the majority of the places they attend, Croke Park (85,000) people included. However, like every other artists in the world it's unlikely they'll sell absolutely every ticket every where they go. But this stuff now are just summer shows added on to the end of the Gravity Arena tour... I keep forgetting they are even happening.

I think they're past their sell by date really and I can never tell one of their songs from another! They all sound the same to me

Yes their star has dimmed a bit but they're still popular. I actually prefer the cover versions they do, as opposed to their original songs!

Blasphemy.

They're not in the public eye as much as the other groups as they only release the one single and then tour which is a shame they've done well to be around for 13years and still be as successful as they are, every single they've released has gone top 10 (bar 2 of them they all went top 5) and every album top 3 (apart from two the rest went #1). I hope this move to RCA allows them to release more.

One of the few groups I despise they marked the beginning of the overhyped boyband era

They often play strange venues, I remember they played Sincil Bank in Lincoln one year, which isn't a regular concert venue.

their time in the limelight has definitely come to an end though, now they've split from Cowell they won't be getting their annual XFactor sales boost either (Their songs are traditionally used as backing music in the auditions, followed by a performance of their new single on the live shows)

they are still popular but they need to stop releasing these terrible pop/rock songs produced by john shanks.
Their first album had some good singles such as flying without wings, swear it again, fool again etc.
Also quite liked queen of my heart then they kind of faded after raise me up cause of all the new bands.
They've left syco cause they wouldn't release any more singles.

You can't tell the songs apart? I couldn't even tell Westlife and Boyzone apart!

Mainly because there wasn't any difference worth giving a toss about anyway... Five young Irish guys in a manufactured band from the same management team singing bland ballad-style songs to the same teenybopper and wants-to-mother-them-bored-housewife audience.

My mental differentiation of Westlife extended no further than them being Boyzone's "younger siblings", sort of the successor to Boyzone. Didn't Ronan-frigging-Keating "manage" Westlife early on anyway?

I never really listened to Boyzone much so I don't know that many of their songs but the ones I have heard are just as dull as Westlife's  My friend used to like them in the late 90s/early 00s though when I was more into stuff like Spice Girls, S Club 7, Vengaboys and Britney Spears (who I still love). I remember buying my friend a Boyzone single on cassette for Christmas one year, think I was 8 or 9.

Westlife are planning an R & B or have said they would like to record one. If they are not successful then why does every single and album make the top 10 when released even if they only 1 or 2 songs from each album lately. They just also kept same formula because it works
