My recent sennheiser CX400 headphones from sennheiser have broke, no sound coming through in the right ear. I got these for £17 when they were, once on play.com.

I would like to buy some more. Heard CX300 are good for heavy bass but I don't want to have too much bass as I listen to other sorts of music where I like to hear the detail more. I heard the CX500 are good for this; are they an upgrade to the CX400? Or do I just buy the CX400 again?

& is there any difference between the normal ones and the precision ones?

I don't want to spend any more than £25

Thanks

I would highly recommend the CX300 mkII's

I find they have a well balanced sound.

Make sure you buy direct from Amazon/Play etc. though as there are a lot of fakes floating around.

Probably all good, so assume performance is related to price, maybe. I bought some for myself, and my wife liked them so much I bought her some. Hers must have been a different model as they came with a pouch, extension lead and mine didn't. Sound-wise the same.

Seconded. Great quality on rock to dance to acoustic, general all rounder.

The mk2 300 are way better, the originals were muffled and muddy.

the 300's are a step down from the 400's (presumably you got the mk2's) so you might be dissapointed. i've not seen the 500's at a reasonable price whereas the 300's are often cheap and the 400's sometimes at a good price

just be careful where you buy from as there are so many fakes
