Anyone been to Harrods Food Hall?

I was thinking of going next time I was up in London and checking out their ciders? Anyone know what they are like in that respect, variety and price wise I am on about

I think you might have better luck in Bargain Booze if you're looking for cheap cider.

I've been there a few times, used to buy smoked crocodile meat and some fancy sweets from there, but these days whenever I'm over in the UK I find Waitrose is just as good for buying some of the nicer things in life I mostly buy stuff I can't get in Ireland.

No, not cheap, I just want to try something new. Don't mind paying a premium, as long as they don't take the mick

Been a couple of times. I'm never that impressed TBH. More of a Fortnum and Mason person.

Actually, thinking about it I'm never that impressed by anything in Harrod's. Certainly not worth the trek all the way out to Knightsbridge.

I remember Ainsley Harriot taking cameras around there and showing that you could pick up Heinz Baked Beans but they were about 10x the price.

Why??? I agree, don't waste your money if you can buy the same drink somewhere else. Maybe list some of the ciders they sell and check online for the RRP and if it is widely available.

They do a good range of quality ciders IIRC.

Their meat is overpriced. The individual desserts are amazing, though.

Bargain Booze are worse than the average Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys/Morrisons for buying decent cider. They stock nothing that could be considered real Cider made from 100% fresh Apple juice.

These are pretty good for mail order: http://www.beerritz.co.uk/Ciders/

Dobbie's also have a good range: http://www.dobbies.com/storelocator

The loveliest tasting box of chocs I've ever had I bought there quite a few years back. Can't remember the name but they were in a pink box, they had sort of fruit truffle flavoured fillings like raspberry, lemon, etc.

back in 1990 my sis bought a lovely wall clock from Harrods for £210 quid.It had real butterflies on the hands and dried flowers in the case. She was gutted to see exactly the same clock on the Quayside in Newcastle for £19.99 a few months later.
