I'm 50, and I would rather work with Tom than any of the other finalists

25. Would like to work with someone like Tom.

He has his little notepad and his numbers, and he's made some astute observations that have been ignored, he has an eye for a good product, he isn't an awful seller, and would probably do pretty well leading a team under him, that were employed by him.

He can get distracted though, as evidenced in the last episode..

I agree with the sentiment of the OP, that experienced judgement favours Tom.

And the person actually making the decision (LS) is older (64) than anyone who has so far replied to this thread.

19, he should have been out after the Paris task - possibly even before. He's redeemed himself somewhat the last few weeks where he's stepped up his game. He was silenced by the stronger characters in the beginning, which means he didn't put enough effort into getting his voice heard.. that is Tom's fault. He has good ideas. He seems like a nice guy, which is why he's a popular candidate, but he's just not good enough.

Im 16 and I don't like him because he hasn't really done anything memorable to be honest apart from tell people what they should have done, nice guy though.

I want Susie Ma to win all the way!! . I want Helen in 2nd and Jim/Tom can be interchangeable ”

I have absolutely no idea what the first part of this post means. It must be a generational thing, I suppose.

I'm 27 and while I like him as a person I don't rate him within this process.

Outside of the Apprentice he clearly must be an ideas man if he has a product that is out there selling on the markert. But within this show, I can't remember any GOOD ideas that he came up with during tasks (not any that were far far and beyond what any of the other non inventor candiates did anyway). If this had been any other year he would have been in that taxi quite a few episodes ago. The fact that he has 'inventor' as his job title is the big part of what has saved his ass, imho.

17 - Don't Rate Tom..

SUSAN ALL DA WAY <3 It's weird because I don't know if this forum hates her or loves her... It's like 50/50

20 and I'll be really disappointed if Tom wins, he is a nice guy I'm sure, but I don't see any authority or power to him, I think he's a bit weak and soppy... He spent the entire series pussyfooting around and it'll be a shame for all three of the other candidates who constantly put themselves forward and actually exerted their authority.

If there was one word I'd use to describe Tom it would be pussyfooter.

48, 20 years experience in business, 5 as a project manager, and I would rather work with Tom than any of the others. Not sure why people rate 'being heard/shouting loudest' more than listening/hearing all views?! In my experience the louder people are, the less they actually do.

That may be so, but the soft-spoken ones may not do much either. They let you down in silence, head safely below parapet.

I agree with you. I would much rather work with someone like Tom, who is willing to have a reasonable discussion about it if he disagrees with something. It would be hell on earth to disagree with Jim, for example, unless you were totally deaf or had a pair of earplugs, and Susan would just go huffy and tell you how young she was.

I agree with you. Also, he's an ideas man, an inventor who could make LAS and himself a lot of money. He has business experience and I think there's a bit more steel there than people give him credit for. He must have something about him to have been in business already. He probably just isn't used to the type of people who shout and force everyone to listen to them at the level of the candidates on TA! Maybe he does get lost a bit beneath all that, but he shows that you don't have to be obnoxious. As a partner he'd be good. He makes sure he gets the facts and figures right and you could trust him.

I love Tom, he's a lovely guy. Unusual in this process to see a nice person getting this far! There's also something about him Btw I'm 35

25 and to me tom is a wet blanket. I have never seen a man so emasculated. There's being nice and then being a wimp with no cajones. Mr hindsight in the boardroom.

dont rate him at all.

I think it might be an age thing... let me explain.

My theory is that the people who like Tom are a bit older and, having had a fair bit of life experience, understand that his less obvious qualities are very valuable in business. They've worked with enough highly competitive, selfish shouty people to be heartily sick and tired of them and realise that someone who is quieter and comes across as decent and hardworking is a far more efficient business person than one who spends much of their time and energy being shoutily competitive..

In contrast, those who don't rate Tom are probably younger, are still very much in that shouty "Me, me, me" competitive mindset and don't (yet) see that you can be very efficient and good at your job without having to continually show off to be heard above all the other younger shouty types.

I think younger people sometimes mistake 'leadership' for shouting your mouth off, which is understandable but, in my opinion, erroneous.

Anyway, that's my theory - let's put it to the test. Those of you who particularly like and dislike Tom, roughly what sort of age are you?

For the record, I rate him and am, in age tems, what you might describe as 'mid-career'.”

I'm young...ish , I don't think Tom deserves to win but I want Helen to win.

I don't think Helen's been "me, me, me" throughout this competition at all. In fact, she was invisible week 1 - 5 because she kept her head down and just got on with it whilst being able to manage too - so I think your theory's incorrect.

I'm 24. I like Tom, though to be honest I think we've got a great final 4 and wouldn't begrudge any of them the win

Tom and Helen are my favourites, though I have an inkling if Susan's business plan is good, she might run away winner. She may be young but she's done so much with her life already.
