Everybody's been outside, I'm guessing

Mr M finally nerved himself up to start disinterring our garden this afternoon. he's had a horrible time - his key broke off in the shed door lock so he had to take the door off, then the grass was so long he's had to go at it in three stages - lawn shears first, then the strimmer, and now he's just about ready to start mowing it
At least we're fairly sure the toad that's been living in the grass has moved before he mowed that as well...

Melony and I have been out with her bike and some sandwiches in the park all afternoon, and I've just shoved her in the bath to marinade for a bit before her tea.

I'm going to get her all sorted and ready for bed at a decent hour so I'm ready to provide towels, tea and sympathy when he finally staggers in later, poor lad!

Welcome him in like the hero he is.

We've had a longish walk in the woods and managed to avoid the rain, so that was good... but the rest of the day's been very lazy. I suppose that's quite good too.

If you track it down, bring some back with you please!

Garden is tidy, husband can still walk (!), and it's raining again..

I have had the most vile day at work ever and it's not getting any better. I would say roll on Friday - except it's my last wek

I want to go somewhere sunny... *jumps into Amica's suitcase*

I suppose having vile days at least reminds you of what you won't miss! ((((huggle))))

No word of a lie - every single teacher I know, at my school and elsewhere, at every level, is really fed up at the moment. What's going to happen to the profession if they all throw in the towel I have no idea - specially since lots of us are getting a bit long in the tooth these days!

Plus torte and Black Forest gateau.

Well, you only need to go to Wales to move abroad.

Is there room for two?

Just in case anybody is interested, I've found the Soul 2 Soul link for 'Time For Change' featuring 'Get Away'. See the techno thread.

Wales is lovely but...

We're thinking South of France, for the weather and the wine (and decent cakes!).

Sunny but chilly here today. Definitely not mid July temperatures.

South of France is reachable, innit - tunnel and all that.

Don't expect Melons in the summer, though - only the little squash does heat. The two grownups both evaporate above 27 degrees C.

We'll come in autumn half-term

I stayed in Nice for three days. Very touristy though. The Med looked lovely (like blue liquid glass) and I had a great laugh when my mate who couldn't swim had a go.

Just a quick hello as I have internet issues. Actually it's more financial issues, I have to eeeek out my data allowance as no money to buy any more for a while. Work are being arses and seem incapable of retaining info, the upshot is that I have only one shift this week and therefore not even enough to pay the rent never mind food Fortunately I put a bit aside just in case something like this happened, but it's a bugger that my safety net is all going to get used up in one hit. Loads of job applications sent off yesterday and more to do today, so keep some of your vibes to send Southwards please!

On the homefront life is slightly insane as always. Did I tell you about Simon? He's the black and white cat that adopted us, well he and Molly the official resident cat live out the front of the property, DestructoPup lives at the rear of the property and on alternate weeks we have Sam the birdie (cockatiel perhaps? I have no idea, yellow birdie) lives in the house but rarely in his cage. Cats want in to eat the bird, dog wants in to eat the bird. Dog is not so fussy, she also wants to eat the cats, even possibly after they have eaten the birdie, she is very laid back like that Getting into and out of the house is becoming quite a task, and a familiar cry is "oh crap, the bird!" This weekend, my landlady is off camping with her girly whose bird it is and so LittlePlum and I are in charge of the menagerie, god help us and god help the bird!

We've had a fairly off week weatherwise, it's been chilly and rainy which led me to the discovery that I didn't pack my brollies when we moved! Several soakings later, I'm still brolly-less but at least the rain is warm! Today the sun is back and there is plenty of blue sky! We've also got a double murder and missing bodies going on locally, well the murder is not still ongoing but the investigation is - and they said it was safer here than London!

That about sums up life here at the moment. I'm off to read my book, have a cup of tea and a chat with the pup about life, the universe and everything. She's a good listener, far better than the other creatures (LittlePlum included ).

Sounds like you have quite a few balls to juggle. Hope it all works out.

I'll send good vibes for the yellow bird.

And I hope things start perking up for you soon Plumster.

I'm having a can't be arsed day so far and I'm very tempted to put work aside and do something really dull, like ironing. Or dusting.

If you iron, batty, you can watch telly at the same time! (I can, anyway...)

((((((Plummie))))))))) - sending you and the birdie a bucketful of vibes. One of those applications has to work out for you sooner or later!

This is what us men can't do if you believe all the hype. What's it called again. Oh yes, multitasking.

My heart stopped beating as I was typing this in. Can't do two things at once you see.

Oh shit, I've gone blind now, as I'm listening to something.

Only joking ladies, but it really is an urban myth that men can't multitask, but you ladies can do it so much better.

I used to work in second line support.

**** number 1. That would be me using the PC.
**** number 2. Would be on the phone talking at er with me.
**** number 3. Would be an office colleague talking to me.

And all at the same time. The mind boggles, how I coped with it all.

My (much loved) husband can't dry a cup and hold a conversation at the same time - he stands in the middle of the kitchen holding the cup and the tea-towel while he talks to me

Was it President Gerald Ford of whom it was said that he couldn't fart and chew gum at the same time?

I can't walk down the road and hold a mobile conversation at the same time. It doesn't happen often when I'm on the move with a mobile, but I just had to stop walking.

Batman can't drive and have a conversation. Well, actually that's not true - he can, but who knows where he'd end up without me.

So you disprove another urban myth, that women have no sense of direction and can't read maps.

Mother used to read the map, when dad was driving from the UK to Germany, but they would also take turns at the driving, as the journey took the best part of 24 hours.

Hello

Just wanted to pop on with a little good news. I've been offered a 12 month contract somewhere else. I'm hugely relieved - its a funny kind of 'stay of execution' I guess, At least it buys me a little time.

Anyway, whatever! I'm chuffed
