I had the nicest interview ever! I so want the job! The lady whose business it is was totally charming and very genuine. Best of all though is they have an office cat, an office dog and a piano!! What more could an employee want?! Seriously though, she is a very astute lady and I had a most enjoyable 45 minutes or so chatting with her, if nothing else it reassured me that whilst the businesses may not be on the grand scale that I was used to, there are still some good jobs to be had out there.

I won't hear til Friday about the job but my gut feeling is that whilst she seemed to have the greatest of respect for my job history, I think that they will offer the job to someone else who has more recent basic admin experience. I think alot of the role initially for that job would be quite tedious although I did point out to her that if I can be happy putting things on shelves in a supermarke I can be happy doing tedious jobs at least for a while! ..... especially with a cat, a dog and a piano for distraction One reason why my metaphorical gut is telling me that it will be a "no" is that she did mention that there may very well be another vacancy for a different role in a couple of months or so and I could almost hear her thinking that that might be more appropriate to my skills .... perhaps it's working in a padded room with a strait jacket on

At worst today was a lovely day where I met a really nice lady and passed a very pleasant hour; Keep your fingers crossed for me! Please

Well done Plumster. I'll keep everything crossed that you get one of the jobs.

And thanks for the suggestions jra. I really enjoy finding new music. Well, new to me, obviously.

No problem. I can dig up some pretty rare stuff one way or another.

Did you listen to the last 90 minutes of Laurent Garnier?

Also Carl Cox.

That sounds really positive, plums! We'll keep the vibes coming.

I'm whacked today - been keeping M on the go to keep her amused and it's about finished me off
a) Making pots as presents for grandad and auntie
b) haircut
c) Lunch at Maccy D's as a reward for being good
d) Halford's for a pump adaptor
e) Quick dash toSainsbury's for bananas
f) Back home, blow up paddling pool with adaptor
g) supervise splashing
h) empty pool whiloe Mr M dries M
i) teatime

Middle-aged motherhood... what have I signed up to???

(wouldn't have it any other way, obvs - just need to get back in training!)

Rather you than me HM
I'm packing one off to see the boyfriend tomorrow and the other one lives on his computer. Works for me...

Plums.... am still vibing that the lovely lady will decide to offer you this job, but if she doesn't, let's hope that's because the next one is a better one xx

Is anyone else following BB? It's been dire this year in a morbidly fascinating way.

I gave up on BB after year one, after it became a wannabe contest.

Not yet. I've bought a 60 track, 3 disc R&B CD and I've had that blasting round the house. Not much work got done!

But yes please to any and all suggestions. Even if I don't get it straight away I'll log it in my brain for later.

handy - sounds lovely. *goes misty eyed and sniffs a bit*

P.S. Sad, I'm trying with BB but I don't think I'm enjoying it. But I'm still watching... car crash, innit.

Morning/evening all

No news yet about the job - waaaaaah! .... she did say Friday but I reckon this means that she has offered the job to someone else and pending a response is keeping me in reserve. Either that or she has been too busy the last couple of days to get round to making a final decision... or ... or... or... meh - who knows! I would follow that up with "who cares" but the answer to that is obvious - me!!

Worked 6 hours in the freezers today - a tad chilly, I think my frostbite has frostbite now! It was quite a pleasant day at work though, almost all the team were in so there was plenty of chatter off and on, and as you know, I do like to talk

Going to play with some boxer pups tomorrow morning and then LittlePlum's friend is coming over for the day. She is a real livewire so I don't see it being a very restful day, having said that the last time she came over she was as good as gold to the extent that I was quite worried about her

Today's highlight has been DestructoPup being back to full power! It's been getting very chilly at nights, so we got her a lightweight fleece jacket which is a battle to get on her every night and then a battle to get off her in the morning. Anyway, this morning she made her feelings very clear when she snatched it off me when I took it off her and went galloping round the garden with head held high so she didn't trip on it and promptly hid it behind a big bush! Then this evening she discovered she can lift up her plastic tub with her toys in and run around with it scattering toys everywhere. LittlePlum and I then gather them up and put them away and she then scatters them again - she clearly finds this hilarious! Once again, I must learn how to put up photos and you can see her smile, she has a gorgeous grin!

Enough wibble from me - hope you all have a great day! I might get up at the crack of dawn to watch the Olympic opening ceremony .... or i might not

@ KJ

Batman's back early and we're going to watch it too. The TV's on in the background now and it all looks so cute. I'm loving the little clouds being walked around.

@ KJ44 - I enjoyed my snoozelette and slept right through the ceremony. I am truly ashamed .... well perhaps the "truly" part is untrue I'm going to watch this arvo as it's repeated and it will give me something to do while I hide from LittlePlum and her best friend who will no doubt be shrieking around the house. Happy children ... pfffffffft, we'll have no happiness here, I tells ya!

Actually, that was quite timely, she is being a pain in the bum, and I'm off to read the riot act. Go fierce mum

Yoo hoo to you too.

We've done next to nothing. Went shopping. Had some food out. We'll now have some food in... That's pretty much it.

Sounds darned fine to me, batty!

We had our joiner mate here this morning to check out some odds and ends we want doing - 8-30am, I ask you!!!

Still - I got the kitchen tidied, and then we did our tried and trusted lunch in the park (empty plate=playing on the stuff!) and drove over to the pet shop for some cat equipment beofre pottering home and spending the rest of the afternoon playing Snakes and Ladders (M won) and teaching M how to play tiddlywinks (which she got pretty good at).

Other than that it's been all about eating and yawning

Grrr... the Olympics.

My boys are glued, glued I tell ya!

I might have to threaten them with something horrible to get them away from the TV.

It might be bonkers to say this but it really feels like it started to get dark really early tonight. Nights are drawing in is not something I was expecting to say in July.
