Weather just about perfect for me atm - sunny but not hot.

And Tom Daly doing diving - I know I'm a dirty old perv but he really is a lovely-looking lad!

There are some lovely looking swimmers too

Maybe it's actually September but no one's told us.

I'm not grumpy at all today (and not because I've been watching fit young men in swimming trunks getting wet ). I had a meeting that went well, then took the boy shopping to the Metro centre in Newcastle. I normally hate places like that but it kind of worked today - not too busy and we got some nice stuff and had some chips and bought some fab chocolate and it was just really nice.

He always looks very clean, which is important.

I've spent most of the afternoon writing emails to Polish people, in Polish. Let's put it this way, I haven't managed to write many! It's a vicious language for spelling and grammar. My head feels a bit weird actually.

I have been writing English ones but they might as well have been in Polish for all the effect they are having. Bloody county council jobsworths. And breathe.....

Off out for a meal this evening to celebrate having finally booked a holiday. Wooo.....

I'm an expert in Polish as well. My shoes are so shiny you can see your reflection in them. Well, actually that's a lie. My shoes are allergic to polish in reality, so I sent them down to the doctor to get a prescription.

And a @ jra

I'm following Sad's example and about to book some flights... Not going to be much of a holiday, though. A tour of Polish care homes wasn't what I was imagining when I said I needed a break. Still, I'm taking the boy and we'll do a few fun things too, so I'm looking forward to that.

Still rather be on a beach...

I hope you took it in the spirit it was intended. Oops, there I go again.

Ooo, Polish spirit rocks! But I don't know how people can drink a lot of it without their insides or their tongue falling out or something.

It's a walk in the park, if you've drunk over proof rum

I haven't had that pleasure.

I'm planning to bring back some hazelnut vodka. I got a little bit last time because the guy in the booze shop said it was weird. It is. It's sweet, very strong... kind of like drinking very alcoholic praline, and everyone who's tried it loves it. It's less that a fiver for half a litre or something like that.

Anyway, I'm only here because of the bloody cat. No windows open so he must've got in earlier. Tenacious little sod. I'm completely awake now I've explained to him he doesn't live here. Again!

Made me chuckle that you've inherited a cat. He likes you obviously.

I'm knackered and I really, really don't want to inherit a cat. It's happened twice before... and I'm a dog person!

Too much to do, not enough time, so I shouldn't be here. Shame procrastination isn't in the olympics. I'd get a gold medal.

I can procrastinate for England.

Race you for the gold medal.

I've managed to get quite a bit done so far actually, so you might be in with a shot jra.

OK. Mine's a measure of Southern Comfort.

As a student, a mate and I once drunk a bottle of "trotosky cherry brandy" for its name alone.

That's not us in the picture. Although I did have a female drinking companion, we invented "martini tongue".

(That's not what you think, shurrup!)

Evening folks!

No hols for us this summer - we're turning the house out and decorating - but a couple of nice days out so far this week and hopefully more to come!

Enjoying keeping up with the Olympics as well - glad I'm not the only mucky-minded one

It looks like our time in Warsaw is going to feature almost daily thunder storms, with the biggie right when we're flying. The following week looks... well, just wet, so there's little point in changing the dates. I think a bit of thunder will be more fun that plain old rain. But not if the plane crashes, obviously.

Do planes crash because of thunder anyway?
