I'm not sure it can be taught - or that it's healthy. Let it out with a carefully chosen friend nearby. Hope you are ok.

Sad - thanks but I prefer real cake, or scones

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm me too.....

Today, I am mostly hating flat pack furniture but loving my new desk. Life is full of contradictions.

BB WWF - let it out, it's so much better out than in.

No worries. Better out than in, as Sadperson said.

Yeah, just not the best way to introduce myself to the thread on the first day

It's so painful loving someone who's never gonna love you in the same way back

Hey. Don't worry about it. If I'm accepted here (and we've made up, due to past history), you'll be welcome.

I'll flirt with you. Not that I normally flirt with people, you understand, as the Grumpies who know me will tell you...

Anyway cyber chums, I'm back!

The trip was full of highs and lows and I'm very knackered, but I got loads done, much more than I expected, mostly because of a fab taxi driver who ended up being my chauffeur for the week and is one of those people who knows everyone, but without being shifty if you know what I mean. When we discussed her fee she negotiated me down, explaining that having guaranteed work for the week was more than good enough as business was really slow. We really got on and it was good to have her around. A new mate.

So, I think I found the right place. I just need to make the *move* happen at the right time. God knows how I'm going to manage it but then every step on this path has looked impossible at first, so I'm not going to stress about that right now. I'm home and I've a cold PG waiting for me.

Hi you.

There was a Grumpy Old Men thread but it didn't last long - there's a joke in there somewhere about old men and stamina...

Morning all

yayyy batgirl, glad you're back - it's been quiet! Now I know that is somewhat odd coming from me as I frequently have quiet spells .... but you don't, and even when I'm being quiet I like to read about everyone elses goings on!

We had a great day yesterday, considering I used to drive up and down the UK on a regular basis, yesterday was the first decent length drive that I've done in the last 5 years or so and that was a 180 km round trip, so hardly epic in length but was good to do! Also included a spectacularly windy uphill and then downhill (on the way home) road up the range! Trouble is I got fed up with the twists about half way down as I just wanted to be home, but there's no stopping! It was all good fun though and we came home a bit poorer than intended as we blew the budget at the first stop at the crystal caves and have some lovely rocks!

Biggest laugh of the day, more surprise than anything, was my sweet 10 yo LittlePlum rounding on me when I was tickling her , fists raised "Do you wanna mess with this, Punk?!" Eeeep, what is the world coming to She's funny, also she didn't know what "punk" meant, which made me laugh even more!

Your trip sounds lovely Plummy.

Speaking of waiters, Sad, there was a very cute one in Warsaw, but he spoke so fast I couldn't understand what he was saying. He heard us talking in English so switched to that... and I still couldn't understand him. Could've been awkward but we got on well enough for a big glass of red on the house. I'll introduce you when we go.

jra - have you heard of or tried valerian tea? It smells like something's died but is very good for insomnia for some people. Worth a go perhaps.

Tesco sell this brand: http://www.drstuarts.com/functionalt...lerianplus.htm

A large brandy might work just as well...

So am I. We only need six days a week, so Monday can be safely deleted.

I don't usually object to Mondays, but today I should have. It's been a totally pants sort of day. Just when I start to think life (finance in particular) is getting more stable, work decides to f**k around with my hours. If I were inclined to temper tantrums I would be throwing things around and kicking things at the moment.... but as I'm not, I'm having a tantrum in my head which is probably why my head aches. Grrrrrrrr!

Let it out Plum...

I'm going to have tea and a crumpet. I've a difficult phone call to make so I might have two crumpets actually. And a digestive.
