Glad to hear it BG.
![]() Here, we worked our way through 3 bottles of wine and then took the dog for a walk, ending up at the pub ![]() Funniest part was watching the dog weave an intricate web around Mr Sad's legs on the way home Not that I encouraged him, obviously *whistle*

Some serious wraps in the shawls are beaming to everyone.
Sad - Sounds like a fantastic walk with the dog. Not that I've ever , well almost ever, encouraged the Combat Corgis to do a similar thing with Himself. It's the "Birthday Weekend" round our well lived in home like a tip hovel. #1 Slavette's friend "Legs" kicked it off with pre night out with the lassies drinks "round ours" here last night. Pixie (Combat Corgi A.K.A my shadow and guardian) had a birthday today. She is now 5. Slavette #3 has a birthday on Monday and is having some friends round on Monday. Now... most of the friends I've met and they have been here a zillion times (they are used to me answering the door wearing random items of clothing)but a few are from her college course who are gonna be a bit stunned I think. I've already been told to BEHAVE. I've also been instructed in what I have to wear while the "new to me friends" are here. It will be great fun and I'm sure #3 will have a great time. On a sad note. It was my Late Father in Law's birthday today. Himself was a wee bit fragile. His dad died just before Christmas and I'm sure everyone knows what I mean when I say he needed an extra wrap in the shawl today. |

Laura!
![]() So sorry you're still in hospital but lovely to hear from you. Vibes and hugs to you. Batty - glad you feel better. Hope your quiet weekend helps Hugs for mr PQ, too. This is an odd time of year at Melon Towers - it's the anniversary of Melony moving in (two years ago.... TWO YEARS!!!!! ), but also, sadly, the anniversary of Mr M's Mum's death a few days later. Mixed emotions all round here.Event of the week: (I should point out here that Melon Towers is situated in a tiny village of about 150 houses out on the Humber estuary... not exactly a teeming metropolis.) So, we're driving back from swimming and (I swear to you, not a word of a lie) as we round the bend on Main Street we pass a lady walking along the pavement clutching a lead, at the end of which is trotting a skunk. Honest, guv. Big fluffy tail, black and white, deffo not a cat, dog, ferrret. Skunk on a lead. Inside the Melon Mobile the following conversation took place: Me: WTF??? Mr M: What? Me: Did you see that woman then? Mr M: (enthusiastically) Yeah! Me: Did you see what she had on the lead? Me M: No... Me: A skunk. Mr M: Eh? Me: She was taking a skunk for a walk on a lead! Mr M: Oh, is that what it was? I saw she had something she was walking, but I was looking at her chest... Me: |

Grump. To check out GOW I usually click on Chatter from GD but now I often end up in the UK riots forum. We were here first!

Laura sorry I missed your post by a couple of days. Hope your scheme to get home works.
Hugs to you. ![]() xxx Yesterday I had an unexpected surprise when a friend offered me a voucher for a Birds of Prey handling experience. His other friend couldn't go so I gallantly stepped into the breach. Didn't need much persuading - I quite fancied it, just never got around to it before. It was brilliant - I'd definitely recommend it. Congratulations to the Melons household on their 2nd anniversary with Melony - though I can understand the bitter sweet memories of that time. Thoughts for Mr.PQ too. |

That sounds fab Iggy. We've been to a few of these things and I'm always amazed by the birds and the knowledge of the people involved. Some of the bigger owls are bloomin' heavy though!

Oh dear, oh dear - I fear you are addicted. Perhaps you should try gradual withdrawal: take it hour by hour, then day by day, then if all else fails start a DS anonymous thread.

Whatever it is, it's too high, and doesn't indicate how long I spend lurking when I should be doing something more useful with my time...

KJ worked out my *real* post count once - eight thousand and something, I think. Probably about nine thouseand by now. And I anticipate a huge spike after the beginning of October when I get home from hopickle and have to spend three weeks Doing Nothing.... long, essentially pointless but deeply entertaining arguments, here I come...
