Thank you! I need them.

I'm not answering the phone today. It might be the wrong thing to do but I need the *space*. Selfish moo...

Not selfish. Taking care of yourself - v. sensible, and entirely the right thing to do. (((((huggle)))))

Love that cover version, Amica!
Will be returning to that in the future, I'm sure.

Sorry about creepy t-shirt Amica

Grump: Leaky washing machine, plumbing weirdness means that we can't turn the cold tap fully on 'cos the tap handle fouls the hose. MrsKJ turns on the hot tap, then we realise the other end of the hose goes nowhere (glub glub splosh).

Anyway, MrsKJ gets stuck in with the mop. At this stage, I should point out that in a house where everyone but KJ is female, (we used to have two boy guinea pigs) I do my own washing. I'm so OCD I sort me undies, pair up me socks and those socks know that no-one is left behind, just like the US Marines. "Black Sock Down" would make an excellent movie title.

MrsKJ, now mopped up, shouts at KJ: "What are some of my (unmentionables) doing in (random places) in the utility room?".

Big mistake by KJ. I said it's nowt to do with me. Apparently it's my fault.

@KJ

Mr M has forgiven me now, but I was in the doghouse ofr a large part of today because I used his car yesterday and when he went to look for his keys this morning, he couldn't find either set.
This was because I'd left one stuck in the ignition and the other in the driver's door

Bad, bad Handy

@ Black Sock Down - that's got my day off to a great start! I'll be remembering it when it comes to pairing up socks this afternoon!

@ handy and the car keys. I used to get into HUGE trouble on the rare occasion that I forgot to lock the car, never mind leaving two sets of keys. Dozy moo

Hope things improve for you soon Batty - I know it might seem somewhat underhand but have you ever thought of recording a conversation with your mum when she is having one of her vague times, so that you let the authorities hear what she is like? Eeep, it's all big brother and covert surveillance ..... It just must be so worrying and also frustrating for you!

Here things are fairly lousy on the job front. Did I mention that they have cut my hours right back? Having said that, this week I've had the same hours as usual as they haven't coped without me and keep calling me in, but that's not the point, that will only last til they employ a part-timer, and they won't give that to me because I can't work evenings or weekends. Grrrrrrr, my employers are my least favourite people... with the exception of one unmentionable person

Apart from the money worries and stress about hours and the headaches that brings, all is good here though.

I better dash though, I have nagging to do! LittlePlum wakes up in an excellent mood but it's just so hard to get her moving to do things like eat breakfast and get dressed!

Night night all

Insomnia

BG - I'm with Plummy - record her - you can probably do it with your mobile easily enough.

Away this weekend... rather looking forward to a break from half of the family. Taking Young Sad oop North (over the border - just) to see an old friend of his, taking wine for me & said friend's mum. Leaving Mr Sad and Little Saddette to kill each other.

That sounds like an *excellent* plan, Sad
Have a brilliant time!

Plum, you'd make a good spy

I wish it was three o'clock, I'm jiggered. Melony wants to watch The Aristocats this afternoon; what a great little film it is!
Who remembers the chase sequence coming up on Screen test with Michael Rodd?

Oh they know what she's like! The social worker's had plenty of conversations like that with her in person.

All the professionals involved in her care agree that she no longer has the capacity to make her own welfare decisions... but they also agree that she's not ticking enough boxes to be sectioned. So yes, residential care would be best for her but no one can make her go into a care home if she doesn't want to. And she considers herself to be completely well.

She's on a waiting list for a fab place in Poland now, and they do things slightly differently there... I just have to get her there! And keep her alive until then.

Decorating's not finished, house is a tip and everyone's knackered - but we've decided to sod it all and have a short break for three nights up at Barnard Castle at half term and we're ridiculously excited!
First proper hols as a family - we've had one or two overnights but this will be a cottage break.

Poor snowbes! *lemsips*

Mr M is poorly - virally thing - so I took M swimming on my own yesterday and then we made an apple pie when we got home. It was so nice I had to have two pieces...

Sunny and cold here - nice crisp autumn morning.
Sending good vibes to everyone because I have some to spare

*sends virtual pie and ice-cream*

When you feel up to baking here's the recipe for the real thing: bloody gorgeous pie!
It was really easy to make!

Ours will all be gone by tonight!
