Check your TV guide - mine says it's on Bank Holiday Monday BBC2 12.40am though - so effectively Tuesday, but hey...

Batty - sounds like a bloody good excuse for a duvet day. What with the weather and all. I reckon Snowbes brought that back from the Emerald Isle with her...

My daughter's just seen Brian May perform live at Reading. He's very grey.

Evening all...

Slobs R Us.

Although we did go out for a long walk... then got caught in a thunderstorm and got back soaked through. So there was nothing for it - a fire got lit and we've been on our bums since then. Bliss.

My dear friend... you have no idea of the levels of geek joy currently resounding about the walls of this house.

Mr M says you are: "Beautiful, intelligent, fabulous and brilliant."

We might even put Lionel Ritchie on later, I reckon...

*mmmmmmmmmwah!!!*

Ooo, err, go Melons!

Sad - you are all the things Mr M says you are and more. We somehow managed to not record The Killing. Help!

Thanks for the vibes - keep 'em going.

After the initial hiccups the plasterers arrived (3 of them) asking which areas are to be replastered; my response - consult the plans. "We haven't seen them," he said. "Then contact the main contractor." says I. Main contractor says walls only but having seen a huge hole ripped out of the ceiling I question this. We agree on walls and ceilings.

Electricians move in - they drink my tea and sing along to the radio - until shock horror they espy the hole in the ceiling. They decide that some asbestos might be present and walk off the job. I'm confident that their fears are groundless but hey - in their shoes I wouldn't be prepared to take a risk. I can see the whole programme of works collapsing like a pack of cards, but the main contractor gets it sorted fairly quickly, though too late for the electricians to return the following day. Work is now behind schedule - there is dust everywhere and although I was told the trades would probably work over the Bank Holiday this was not the case. Rather than choke on the dust that's been generated I've escaped to the clean air of the Lake District.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the bank holiday break.

Oooh, Iggy - - let's hope they pull their collective fingers out and get you sorted quickly.

HM - Tell Mr M flattery will get him everywhere I'm not sure what Batty's after though

Here, well, a night out for me which was meant to be 'clubbing' to my intense relief turned out to be nothing more traumatic than a very pleasant meal followed by a drink. Several worrying texts were recieved from the daughter, speaking of asthma attacks, being hauled out from behind barriers, but somehow obtaining autographs which apparently cured all.

Went to bed 1.30am... was awoken by Mr Sad leaving a message on my mobile wanting to know why I wasn't at the same party as him ... this was at 2.15am. I sent a suitable text response He has the hangover from hell today. Shame

Melony and I made banana loaf this morning. It's very nice... *sends some through the magic of the internets*

Sad - glad she's safely back!
I suggest that you wait till Mr Sad drops off tonight, then haul the pillow briskly out from under his ear and slap him on the head with it...

Iggy - enjoy your retreat!
