Did I miss hearing about what happened to your jaw? I've just spend the best part of a thousand quid for crowns on my back teeth so it's a sore subject ...

Socha and KJ44 - sweet darlings (insert awwww wee face+wee comforting huggles) Dental work is so traumatic but so worth it from my experience not to mention damned bloody expensive. Your smile can age and make you seem younger, not to mention how good you feel grinning great. I can girn great but that's for another thread.
Himself and I went down the flat tonight for a bath and general scrub ourselves clean. The place was freezing so we have now set the heaters to just above freeze setting. The bathroom taps and thingies are, according to the tracking thingie to be delivered tomorrow between 7am and 7pm (if it's dark or still daylight it can affect the time?????) BUT the waste thingie with the plug hole and plug for the bath wont be here till Monday at the earliest. #3 Slavette works in the local chippie on a Saturday and Sunday night. She NEEDS immediate shower or bath to get rid of the chippie dead fat smell as well as getting her kit in the washer. So I am going to suggest her and her girlfriend pop down the flat on Saturday night and that I will take her down the flat on Sunday night and she can co to college from there on Monday morning. Vodka, gin or rum? |

Eek. What fun you've all been having.
My OH doesn't do DIY (any more) so I get a man in - or two.Sounds like your OH makes as many jobs as he fixes, PQ. Thankfully our kitchen refit went better than Iggy's. TFI Friday - pass the bottle - I'll have whatever's open! |

![]() The story is that my back molar had to be extracted a few years ago and the dentist persuaded me to have the two neighbouring molars crowned with a ‘floating dummy’ at the end where the extracted molar had been so I would again have 3 elements. At the time it was thought of as an elegant solution, but to the horror of both dentist and myself the floating dummy worked as a leverage, destroying the roots of the other 2 molars which I lost then too! So now I needed implants for the two new missing molars, but the jaw was too thin so I needed an op to remove some jawbone from the back to be screwed to the front and when that had settled remove the screws and insert the root implants, which is where I am now… all with the goal of getting my two original molars back! All in all this has cost close to the price of a new car ![]() But you're right, a smile is sooo important! |

Amica - Himself can't resist a challenge and whinges and moans about how much it would cost to get someone in to do it. I'd rather get someone in as on occasion it would be cheaper after all the various things damaged/wrecked are repaired or replaced.
Socha - You have been through the wars! I'd have opted for a denture or dentures. Bathroom update. The taps and thingies didn't come. They are still in the warehouse. This prompted me to ask if "Next working day" had a different meaning in Plumbworld as in this world it means the next working day? So it looks as if the taps and thingies won't be here till Monday between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Most of the tiling is done but the wall where the shower is going to be can't be tiled at the moment as we need the exact sizes of the shower thingie that will come out from the wall. The tiling that is done looks really nice. |

We did a big old pile of tidying up today - consigned the high-chair and the pusher to the hall cupboard, had a big clear-up of newspapers, recycling and associated clutter, the did a Tip Trip and called in at the very posh garden centre we have to pass on the way back to reward ourselves with cake. Job done!
![]() batty - it's an edge-of-the-sofa job, I can tell you. With a proper at the end!

I miss garden centre and cake, that seems to be sadly lacking around here, they only seem to be interested in selling plants/trees. What's that all about eh?! Seriously it pees me off.
Thanks for the story starter, I think I'll stick with fiction though as all that you wrote was scarily true Life is grim here. I have discovered that recruitment agencies are the lowest of the low, even lower than estate agents. A complete waste of space. Something that bugs me though is that I have started to whine, not grump, whine. Having started I'm not sure I can stop
