*drops in with a freshly baked marble cake (spiked with rum)*

It won't find jobs, fix kitchen and bathrooms, restore missing teeth, tame teenagers or toddlers, teach computer skills, etc. but it might cheer you all up.

*leaves quietly*

So I'll give everyone a ((((((((((big massive huggle))))))))))) instead!

Keep on keeping on, folks!

Less than a week with a bathroom has my family realising we don't NEED to shower every day.

I know that some members may be having panic attacks at the moment but it is a fact that you can keep and be clean everyday without a shower or bath. My Slavettes have discovered the "having a wash in the sink" experience. I went and bought a cheap baby bath and the 3 Slavettes have welcomed the baby bath into their bathing routine. We also had the shove on the taps wee shower head. Just as well the taps in the down stairs loo weren't dead posh. Mind you we have a down stairs loo so we must be dead posh!!!!

Sorry... I came across as such a numptie. My - Girls -aka- The Slavettes - Have discovered you can stand in a basin and wash and clean yourself. The addition of the push on shower thingie makes it easier to do.

PQ, people get awfully uptight about saying they don't shower or take a bath every day.

Once having had to avoid a shower or bath for a whole 3 weeks on medical grounds, I know that after the first week your hair stops being greasy and as long as you change your clothes daily it's no big deal and no-one notices anything untoward. Chances are if you meet a smelly person, it's either dirty clothes >bletch< or bad dental hygiene >shudder<.

With you all the way Batty.

I'm a bit quiet for the same reason. That and frantically busy doing all the stuff I thought I'd done but hadn't, prior to his departure

Vibes on Friday please

Arrrrrrrr, Pirate KJ!
Absolutely by co-incidence, me being inspired by me@h and the rum, it turns out that today is the day!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interna...e_a_Pirate_Day

Today (arrr) I started out trying to renovate a bicycle, which I had to extract from a tangle in the garden, which turned into a 3 hour hackathon: KJ versus the demon blackberry plants. My arms are all lacerated (despite my fetching pair of purple gardening gloves borrowed from MrsKJ) ow ow ow stingy.

arrrr

Thanks handy! I can't imagine the levels of activity M would reach after a week or so of being fed nothing but treats at the batcave.

Here, we've had student accommodation dramas (yes, at this late stage) which I've managed to sort out by throwing cash around. I'm well pissed off in one way but happy in another as he's going to be in the right place after all.

Oh, and he's also thinking about changing his course.

It's a good job he's my favourite son.

She went down like a ton of bricks tonight - school followed by riotous afternoon at childminder's tires even her out! (Although she did come trotting up to find me at bathtime with the sage remark "Daddy's asleep" - Mr M was indeed slumbering peacefully on the sofa! )

Ah, a tendency toward last minute decisions.
Can't imagine where he gets that from...

I may have mentioned this before, but we have an estate agency in a town near us which is "Plum Properties" - I keep meanng to photograph that as well!
I have properties? marvellous - I'm clearly rich! Champagne all round!

We were the house of high drama this morning. Pup decided to chew through the dsl cable and not surprisingly internet was gone! It was an accident waiting to happen though as the cable trailed the length of the house which was unsightly and a trip hazard. So I've had to throw that away and move the modem up to this end of the house which I suggested doing donkeys ages ago anyway but OH for reason known only to him didn't want to. He wasn't best pleased and blamed LittlePlum because it was her puppy However, good sense has prevailed and now it's only the pup who is in disgrace, she compounded it by running off with his cricket bat - the holiest of holies!

Also this morning our neighbour came round to say that she had a dead cat in her garden and was it ours? It wasn't fortunately for us, but not for some other poor soul! I had to prod it to make sure it was dead and read it's collar for an identity tag with the council. They came round and took the poor creature away, I pity the owner, they probably had a very sad phonecall or visit today.

So after that I just wanted peace! I'm still hiding from the world to achieve that very thing!

Very sad about the pussycat.

Nothing to report from here as I'm trying to get on top of all the practical stuff to do with The Home Leaving (). He's getting together with his best mate Friday and Saturday, and then they're both going off to the opposite ends of the country. It's going to be a bit of a moment...

And it's obvious how well I'm handling it all!

It's happening all over the country, batty - a lady e-mailed Chris Evans on Radio 2 to say she'd been helping her son get his stuff together to go to uni, hiding how tearful she was with great success - then CE played "Hushabye Mountain" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and she cried all over the place!

I don't think you're expected to handle it well when your kids leave home!

I've had my pre-op assessment today; hopickle week on Monday.
In between being quite scared I'm a human tornado!
