@Sadperson - I've thought for the last few years that July is monsoon season here.

I nearly ran into the back of a bus today when I seen Santa. Slavette #1 was in the back seat screaming "It's Santa" and Big Ben (her boyfriend) went a very strange colour as his knees hit the dashboard. I think Big Ben is getting a bit worried that #1 Slavette is more like me than he thought.

Find the post you made that worries you, alert it using the button, and ask the mods to delete it and any subsequent quotes. As long as you're polite, they'll be helpful I'm sure.
@ Natures_Law - Please don't worry. People on forums can be so judgemental and say thing they would never say in real life. For most of them it's forgotton in an instant.

Have a wee wrap in the shawl.

Infact - everyone have a wrap in the shawl. It makes everything seem so much better.
Thank you for the quotes above

KJ44 I don't even know how to find my own posts. This forum moves a bit too fast for my computer

Pixie No-one has been judgemental to me but I just worry I have given too much away that could identify me.

I would love a wrap in a shawl though. Sounds very cosy and snuggly

If I have messed up the quotes, I apologise in advance

oh will you take in the Magritte exhibition too??
Saw the Magritte in June - but given the time well worth a second visit.

Hello Ignazio

I went to Liverpool on a school trip and I've always wanted to go back. I would like to know what it's like there now please
Hello natures_law. How long since you've been to Liverpool? Investment since they won the coveted Capital of Culture back in 2008 has had amazing results. Much regeneration took place prior to winning the CoC, but since then, and despite the current countrywide economic gloom, the city goes from strength to strength - and remember they are second only to London in their number of listed buildings.

Go north young man/lady and btw worry not about previous posts - if we were talking in the press vernacular, yesterday's news, tomorrow's chip paper.

I have a more pressing problem - my washing/ironing lady is on holiday and I have some knitwear with 'handwash' instructions. They need her delicate touch, but she's sunning herself somewhere on the Algarve - how very dare she?

Hello Ignazio

About 1973 I loved going round the Cathedral and round the docks and had a lovely trip on the ferry. Not sure I could do that now though . I'd love to go back for another visit though.

Lady I was harassed by a couple of magazines and a paper after a loss and I am a bit paranoid to a degree I am afraid. Very sorry about that because I have had nothing but a very warm and sympathetic welcome on here

I can do washing but I don't do ironing, sorry How very dare she leave you in the lurch though?

@Ignazio - you poor dear. I fear you may have to just let the laundry wait till your washing and ironing serf has come back from her holiday - she will be so grateful, although you could select a knit or two you don't really like and give it a go yourself. I have heard it's very therapeutic to wash clothing by hand. The secret apparently when washing woolens is not to have the water too hot and not have it dripping when you lay it out to dry. Squeeze as much water as you can from the item as gently as you can, then lay it out to air dry.

On the other hand it's a cardi from primark - get the water in a basin or bucket, a sink or bath would do, throw in some washing powder and just mash it till you feel a euphoria coming over you. Next step is to rinse the cardi a few times making sure you get water everywhere. Then if you are up to it wrap it in a towel and with help from a childling or an unoccupied serf twist the bejazzus from it. Toss it over something or a line to dry and it should turn out perfect.

@Natures_Law - I have no idea how you felt or dealt with with the papers and the magazines on your tail especially when it was something so personal to you. You need an extra special wrap in the shawl.

You sound a lovely person to me.

@Natures_law - Hugs are always welcome and accepted. Everyone needs a special cuddle now and again.
My special cuddles are wraps in the shawl.

Since I go on and on and on about a Wrap in the Shawl I think I need to explain a wee bit.

When I was a wee Pixie my Mummy or Nana would wrap me in the shawl and take me a wee walk. The walk was the getting baby to sleep walk. My Mummy or Nana would wrap themselves in a shawl(blanket) and wrap me(the baby) in with them.

I felt so safe when I had a Wrap in the shawl.

I can't wait to try it out when I get my shawl

I'm hoping my girls wont wait as long as I did to have babies. I'll be a brilliant Nonna or Grannie

Edit Slavette #1 has just told me I'm great at a wrap in the shawl but no babies coming soon.

Me - "Where's that chicken went?"

Slavette #3 - "I put it in the bin as it was use by date today."

Slavette #3 - "What's for dinner?"

Me - " Dinner is in the bin"

Ok I hold my hands up and admit use before and best before dates on food packaging don't really mean much to me. I just ignore them. If it looks right and smells right, I cook and eat it. I would have fished the chicken from the bin if she hadn't ripped the packaging and then made sure some really awful stuff had been dumped on top. Awful stuff is the contents of the bathroom bins.

PQ, you make me do this -------->
I'd have cooked that chicken, too, and a big plplpl to the food police.

I know KJ for one would be right there with you!

nature's law - I can totally understand you feeling paranoid after an experience like that.
From my experience people don't really go ferreting about after your RL persona on here unless you get into a row with them; which I'm sure you haven't
I'm a teacher so I try to be careful with personal info and no-one has ever "shopped" me or come after me in the seven-and-a-bit years I've been here.
Iggy's right - what seems hugely significant to you will usually pass other people by completely.

Apologies for my absence - am on a course of treatment through the NHS which onvolves me ratlling back and forth to the hopickle at what wold normally be my internet time. Normal service will be resumed etc etc.

in the meantime: ((((((((((((((((((GoWs))))))))))))))))))))))

Why am I not getting thread notifications... grrr.

I'd have done the same with the chicken - with anything that doesn't smell off. I take the view that the dates are just there to cover the arses of the supermarkets. A neighbour used to work at a dairy and came home with stacks of yoghurt past it's 'use by' which was always fine for days and often weeks later

Hope you're okay HM ((((((((((((((((((((((((Melons)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

That always looks vaguely rude ^^^^

I'm one child down - gone off to see the BF for the week - and the other has disappeared to his pc as we have to visit his Uni tomorrow and therefore he needs to get his ration in... it's ever so peaceful here.

Handy glad you are fine - and your posts will always be little gems, even if time is hard to find just now.

Plans changed over the weekend - the Son et lumière experience had to be postponed until yesterday - but was an amazing sight. A little cold by 10 p.m. but thankfully sunny and dry. Prior to the main event a group I've never heard of, 6ix Toys, performed - they were very good; then we saw an architectural lighting display, Liverpool's 3 graces were lit with ever changing colours and finally the Macula Spectacular, celebrating the 100th birthday of the Liver Buildings and reflecting Liverpool's history over 100 years; including her illustrious shipping history, the war and The Beatles phenomenon. Lovely to see Liverpool buzzing and isn't it amazing how good tempered crowds are after an exciting evening?

You've had the hobnobs - I'm about to crack open the wine.

We should share!
