Things go from bad to worse with the kitchen - yesterday I came down to find the less than complete kitchen flooded. Assumed it was an installation fault but apparently it's the result of a blocked drain.
My old kitchen might have looked tired - but what I wouldn't give to have it back.

I came down yesterday morning to find one of my dogs had pood on the living room carpet and the stain won't come out

I think it's because I'm having to take co-codamol as the best compromise painkiller; straight codeine = constipation, paracetomol tablets = reflux, soluble paracetomol = sneezing (AAAAARGH!!!!!). So after that lot maybe a lot of burping and a very round tum is not so bad...
I'm also seven pounds lighter than I was this time last week - way to go me!

We're just past the faeces on the floor stage as our toddler is now (basically) toilet trained and the cats (mostly) do their thing outside. Thank God!

Mr M, God bless him always, came home yesterday proudly bearing a thing called a Morpy Richards Meno One-Cup which has a reservoir thingy on the back and you fill that with cold water, then press the button on the front and it dispenses one cup(hence the name!)of boiling water.

Handy M - I hope you are feeling lots better. The wind I had after various ops was the worst part. I had a horrible pain in my shoulders. We don't count the "I'm okay I can do ( insert get up / go to the loo/ clean the windows 'cos a manky bit is staring at you)" incidents where you go all funny and almost slide down the nearest wall. When you've had a stay in hospital after an op it seems really odd that they ask you if your bowels have moved before they let you out and THEN the painkillers you are allowed to have at home bring things to a standstill.
Ignazio - Huggles coming to you from me. When we done our kitchen I cursed that Himself refused to get a "proper Kitchen company in" and we done it ourselves. We had it done in less than 2 weeks from everything being delivered to completion. I'm now not stressing so much about our "Geet Posh" bathroom. It's not finished as we are waiting on a flange(I don't know what it is but it looks like we need a new hot water tank as nothing in our house is standard size or has standard fittings) so that the super dooper shower is super dooper. Still we have the wee shower on the mixer taps. The bathroom looks fab and functions as a bathroom should.
Himself has a chance of a different job with the same company till Christmas so he's considering things. It's different hours and an awful lot less money but hay-hoe - that's more than some people have. Some guys on his team have been told there is no chance and they are people who really need their jobs. They are lots younger than Himself and I are and have young families so they really NEED to be working. We can get by with just me working at the moment.
We all have our blessings to count and as Himself worked so hard and for such long hours when The Slavettes were younger I don't think it unfair or a bad thing I may be "The Breadwinner" now in our Autumn years.
Oh and my GRUMP - there was a frog or it may have been a toad in our kitchen this morning.
How the fcuk did it get in the back door? It's a pretty high step for it to leap.

Today, Little Saddette tried to convince the hospital that she had appendicitis, but they finally sent us home an hour ago on the basis that they couldn't find anything wrong. So that's been fun.

Me, well, I'm pissed of with a certain utilities company (BG ). I got a sales call about my mum's account (my number's on it because I've been paying her bills for years) and said yes to this insurance type cover thing and explained that the paperwork would have to come to me because who knows what she'd make of it. Fine, call customer sevices and they'll sort it out for you the bloke said. I called customer services, explained eveything and got told that I needed to talk to someone else and they'd transfer me. Then they cut me off. So I called back, got a different person, explained again and got put through again...
So I explained again, got put on hold, then was told that paperwork would be sent to me after my mum writes in to them to explain that she wants the paperwork sending to me.
"Listen", I hissed at the poor woman, "if she was capable of writing and posting a letter I wouldn't need the sodding paperwork posting to me, and this should be clear seeing as I've explained the situation in detail not only to the first person who called me but everyone else I've spoken to since, including you." Or words to that effect.
I then told her to cancel the new arrangement and to note what happen down as a complaint.
That was last night.
