Same here Amica - this week's doing weird things with time and Friday can't come soon enough.

My mum's plot is getting even more interesting - the clothes shop that sold her the carpet which never got delivered was once owned by Gordon Brown, who was ousted from some kind of a political organisation (was it the Labour Party mama? no, it was something like the Polish Liberation Party, not sure, long ago now...) AND from the shop at the same time. The carpet hasn't been delivered because Gordon had helped my stepfather's political career, which culminated in the previously mentioned Mayorship of London, and the current shop owners were annoyed about that for some, as yet, undefined reason.

Stepfather's political career came to an end when he died of a massive heart attack just as they were setting off to a ball my mother arranged in his honour. She goes into quite a bit of detail when talking about her ballgown.

I dunno... I'm going with the flow now because there's absolutely no point in trying to make her remember the real stuff (and her confabulations are more interesting anyway). They call it *honest lying* and that's just what it is.

It all sounds very fin de siecle and romantic, batty... I think at least she's firmly in the realms of fantasy and agreeing with her is the best policy. That way she's not upset by you disagreeing with her, and as it's all in her head hopefully no *real* businesses are being dragged into it!

Mr M's birthday was lovely, thank-you - we went out to Starbuck's together for my firt car-ride (officially sanctioned by my GP!) and had a lovely long, lazy chat over coffee and cake. Fab!

That sounds like a lovely treat for you both handy. (seeing as it was long and lazy I'm guessing young Melon was too busy to attend )

His lot are doing pretty well at the moment - as are both Mr M's lots!

Today we broached Mr M's birthday chocolate cake; made by Thorntons, scoffed by Melons! By *heck* it's good!
You can tell it is, because Melony scoffed the whole slice instead of just licking the chocolate icing off the top... and then tried to convince us she needed a second slice
