Go, Dutch, go Dutch, go! (for both reasons!)

No point in doing a job you hate, whatever the economy. We spend far too much of our lives at work to spend time doing something we don't like. When I went back to work after I had my breakdown several years ago I promised myself that if I wasn't enjoying it again after a year I'd look for something else. Luckily I fell back in love with work after moving to the Drama department, but having seen Mr M really miserable doing a job he couldn't stand I was prepared to walk if necessary.

As for smear tests - my cervix is the only bit of my lady-bits I've still got... so I still have to go for smear tests!
I'm not a big fan (mostly because my womb tilts the wrong way and it's a beggar getting the angle right) but it's a necessary evil in my book.

Sad - sending you mega-vibes for your meeting tomorrow ~~~~~~~~~~~~>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Mega hugs to all of us - (((Grumpies)))

My mum's current worries are that the Yorkshire Dales have been moved so she doesn't know where I am, and that the tank the council airlifted into the back of one of her properties is still there and she doesn't know where to get a crane large enough to lift it back out.

So yeah, I'll just send good vibes into the world today I think...

Just think, batty - some people take piles of drugs to get themselves into a state like your Mum...

How's Sad, I wonder?

All quiet at Melon Towers today - which is a good thing!

Sad's grumpy.

Work have fcuked up and couldn't give us the info we should have had today. So... we know we're at risk but not to what extent or what our options are. Fab

Congratulations!! That is lovely news! After a funeral this week and a trip to court to support my step-son, it has generally been a pants week, so that is great to hear! Have fun with all the planning and make sure you two arrange what you want, not what you think you have to do to make everyone else happy!

this is why I think you're great snowy. Biggest laugh of the day for me and just before I head off to bed too!!

We had some good news midst all the family drama this week, got an unexpected back payment from the government here, seems they stuffed up and owed us quite a lot of money. Enough to clear our bills including my overdue storage fees, unfortunately not enough to ship the stuff over but at least it isn't all going to be disposed of now! Now I just need to work out how to get it shipped soon, but I have a bit of breathing space!! MrPlum made me buy a kindle too as a treat for being splendidly lovely! So woop woop - I have a Kindle at last!! Actually it's still in the box, I've been too knackered to open it and I'm happy enough just knowing I have one

Just home from work, my back hurts, my legs ache, my hands are sore, I have virtually no nails left, my feet are sore, but I politely told the Supervisor that I would suggest that she doesn't bellow at me the way she was bellowing at some staff tonight as it's not the best way to deal with me. I smiled and walked off. As i left tonight she smiled and nodded her head at me which is as friendly as she has ever been .... i said to MrPlum, it might have been a respectful, "ok we have an understanding" or it might be a "I have your card marked and I'll fix you missy" - not sure I care either way

Bed time for us upside down folk! Good night all!

Fingers still crossed for you Sad!

Batty, I know I shouldn't laugh but your story did make me giggle, reminded me of my Nan telling my mum that my brothers and I had stolen her electrical sockets from her room and decorated to cover it up! We were only kids

Anyway, I must shush and go!

Hello, snowy!

Plum, I'm so glad you've had a windfall - you deserved one
See - we all told you that your Horrible Mistake wasn't the end of the road - and it wasn't
Enjoy your Kindle, cos Mr Plum is right - yoiu are splendidly lovely

Had a nice day today; did a few jobs while M was in school and then took her out to Maccy D's and the park this afternoon. Got home, made a ratatouille to cancel out the cheeseburger and then had a nice snuggle in front of the TV while Mr M had his shower. The cats have started to venture inside earlier now the weather's turning, and M is learning how to leave them alone...

Happy news Plum!

Apropos Kindle

What's this?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drop_bear

Drop bears are commonly said to be unusually large, vicious, carnivorous koalas that inhabit treetops and attack their prey by dropping onto their heads from above.[2] They are an example of local lore intended to frighten and confuse outsiders and amuse locals, similar to the jackalope, hoop snake, wild haggis, or snipe hunt.

It is often suggested that doing ridiculous things like having forks in the hair or Vegemite or toothpaste spread behind the ears will deter the creatures.[3]

Greetings snOwy.

Sad - grrrrr at those responsible.

KJ - very sound advice for our Plum there. Toothpaste behind the ears ought to do it.

Plum - I'm so happy you got a Kindle. KJ's links are fab and for me one of the best things about it has been getting LOADS of free stuff. My Kindle's more than paid for itself by now and I'm loving re-reading stuff that is either *lost* at the bottom of some box somewhere or has been really lost or given away. Having said that, I've also read an enormous amount of crap on it - things I'd never buy in a bookshop but that tempted me because of their under a quid price tag.

Thankyou for the links KJ you are still a diamond geezer! I may well be pestering you and Batty when I finally open the box!! Yep it's still unopened - I barely made it through the day yesterday I was that tired and I had to work last night too!

Speaking of work, there was a guy in charge last night and he's lovely. He apologised and said he would be in charge tonight, so I said don't apologise it will be a pleasure as long as he isn't a screaming harridan. He was really good and I actually heard staff laughing as we got on with the job and shock horror, he told everyone at the end that they did really well and thanked us. That surely is how it should be. Oh and my views aren't influenced by the fact that we all were given a mini iced Christmas muffin

Hoping for a peaceful day today, there has been far too much drama this week and I'm totally over it! So fingers crossed while you sleep....

I've been busy doing not very much, and it's been nice.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow, though. Too much to do, not enough energy, and almost all of it a thankless task anyway.
