Horrible day today - Mr M had a day off and we were both so stressed and knackered we basically spent the first half of it it arguing. And then after things had all calmed down and we had a nice afternoon he went to pick Melony up from the childminder's and was waiting at a busy T-junction to turn right onto the main road, and the car behind him rear-ended him on purpose! Four young lads all thinking it was v. funny. He ended up really losing his rag and shoving one of them - it all came to nothing, but by the time he got home he'd convinced himself the police would be round to arrest him for assault, and of course M was in a right old state.

Anyway - cups of tea and calming-downs all round and we're just about back to normal. *phew!*

I'm soooooo tired this morning. Must have had about 3.5 hours sleep in the end but was woken up early by pup banging the door to say it was time for her walk and wee. Who am I to argue with a puppy bladder!

The boyfriend didn't show up here anyway. Gather things are a little... strained. Another Uni Open Day tomorrow - although she now says she doesn't want to go there so what's the point ... I just want to be able to plan my weekend, is that so much to ask?

Ours is nowhere near a teenager and she's been a proper handful all day - swinging from angel to git in the blink of an eye. Hoping to get her into bed early so she's less tired tomorrow and we have half a chance of not parcelling her up and sending her to one of you lot!

... my weekend's planned - I'm getting pissed tonight, sleeping it off tomorrow followed by a bit of reading in bed when I wake up, and Batman's making supper. Sunday will involve more sleeping in and then a bit of when he goes off (so to speak).

Not the most dynamic of weekends but I've only just finished dealing with a shedload of paperworky stuff so energy levels are low.

Millwall's Den was the only ground I was ever genuinely unhappy visiting. It was kind of sinister but that was back in the day!

Nothing much to report here. All quiet on the Southern Front.

My delightful OH said we'll go and get me a bookcase which will be most excellent as I hate all my books being in piles rather than shelves. Hoping it happens soon as I have it all planned out!

Only a week more of school. LittlePlum is really looking forward to the holidays, but I think she'll be bored quickly. It won't be so bad if the car is fixed as at least then we'll be able to go out and about a bit. Car goes in again on Tuesday, hopefully this time to be repaired, so I'll be needing positive car mechanical/electrical vibes

Our washing machine conked out this week too, but luckily there was a spare one here that Roger the ex-Lodger had bought for $20 at a garage sale. It sounds like a rocket about to go into orbit - but it's better than no machine!

Work just phoned, I thought it was to give me extra hours tonight, but wahhhhhh it was just to ask if I would change my 4 hours from 5 - 9 to 8 - midnight wahhhhhh that means another late night!

Rubbish week here but now am in bed again with poorly shoulder. Looking forward to tv tonight. How sad am I?

Sad? You and me both Amica (and Sad, of course). We've started on the PG already and have an evening of X Factor planned - the US version and our own. There was an option to go out too, so that probably makes us extra sad.

my washing machine has expired....I went to the launderette and put the money in to watch it start up with no washing in it.....told the resident Dot Cotton, who told me "nothing I can do" ....so I brought the two big loads out and they are in my friend's machine

I suspect we'll be making further inroads into our Spooks box-sets tonight, assisted by a ready meal from Waitrose. We know how to live it up, we do!

Re washing-machines: Our old one used to leak though the door, but only if I put powder in the drawer

It's horrible being without one, even temporarily. Poor snowy!

Boo for dead washing machines - mine made a funny clunky bangy noise earlier but seemed to recover and work afterwards... succeeded in making stupid dog bark at it though and try to get in through the little glass window - he then sat there doing the circular head motions watching it spin! Muppet

He has a problem with domestic appliances - goes utterly cuckoo when we so much as move the hoover and can actually be a bit nasty towards it too. Obviously this doesn't bother me as I feel much the same about housey things, think he's obviously my kindred spirit
