I
Elven horse-tablet antibiotics to go, but all for the best, eh?
Elven horse-tablets all sounds a bit Lord of the RIngs to me

Hope you are all sorted out and fiximitated soon

Glad to see the GOW rumbling along stil .... I have no idea who from Tenko I would be ..... there was an Aussie nurse wasn't there? but i won't be an aussie til the end of this year beginning of next. Or there was the one with the baby who became somewhat slutty .... not quite sure that is me though .... I shall ponder the depths of my memory!

Not much happening here. I would appear to be unemployable, too experienced or not enough experience - pffffffft. I'm sick of it all. It's very wearing living on the breadline, we have cut back so far that there is no scope for any more cutbacks, the only thing left is the internet, which I need for job-hunting. On a more positive note, LittlePlum is hilarious, so life can't all be bad

Hope you are all sleeping sweetly .... and handy you should be off to bed now - tsk tsk!! I'll be back soon!

Plummie! Lovely to hear from you again, though I wish the news regarding the job hunting was better. If all else fails, write a book about your adventures - I'd buy it - though I think that handy and her elven tablets might be hot on your heels, with some kind of a fantasy adventure... Oh, I know - collaborate and do a best seller about Little Plum and young Melon. Just thinking about the title makes me ...

Here, I'm knackered but happy (for a change).

That's a coincidence, I'm knackered too. I was happy - until I got home at 7.30pm having left the house at 9.30am to discover that Young Sad had slept for the entire day... and the dog was crossing his legs in the hall. Mr Sad had gone for dinner at his mother's....

I'm having an early night

I wrote a big long post a few hours ago and the internets ate it. Grrrrrrr!

Anyway...

1) @ Mr Sad's reaction

2) We went to Little Betty's on Stonegate and only queued for about ten minutes. The trick is to go at about 3pm - they generally have a bit of an ebb then. Ish.

3) Been to hopickle this morning for a scan - no more jabs. Yay! \o/

Oi, Sdapreson - leeve my spoolings alone, rihgt?

If we were writing about Little Plum and Melony we'd have to call the book "A Bit of Fruit Salad"

Only nine tablets left...

batty, glad you had a nice day

And Sad - (((((silly men))))))

Melony and I had a lovely day with some lovely friends in the sunshine - it doesn't get better than that, really, does it?

Ha! I remember, she was a bit of a mad old stick - yes, I could do that

OK then, I'll write a book after lunch. What's my book about?

Thanks everyone for all the hellos and whatnot - I really am shamefully lax, it's not even as if I'm run off my feet at the moment, just head bogged down in feeling sorry for myself ..... oh woe is me .... o me miserum <--- Latin wasn't wasted on me after all

I've got 3 more job applications to prepare over the next couple of days. Here they seem to really like the covering letter as opposed to focussing on the resume, so each application I have to write a mammoth job specific cover letter, it's a pain in the posterior.

Speaking of pains in the posterior, I better dash as I'm supposed to be getting LIttlePlum ready for school. It's time to brush and plait her hair and as it's now down to her bum, it takes quite a while!

I'll be back later

Plums, I *so* sympathise over the job thing. I've never been in that poisiton (as yet - there's still time!) but Mr M has and it's just so dispiriting and exhausting. Really hope something comes along soon
And don't worry about coming on here for a whinge... that's at lest partly what it's for!

nature's law - glad you got out
Did you do anything nice?

My day involvd lunch, a walk in the grounds of a stately home, some art appreciation and a very large ice-cream... AND my lovely friends occupied Melony for some of the time and lightened the load. Triple hooray!

Hello Went out for a meal in Derby. The food was nice but the beer was horrible. Thank you for asking though

I've never particularly liked to whinge at people .... in writing. Face to face I have no such qualms You know something, I have never written the word "qualms" before in my life, oh what a glorious day it is today ... hence forward it shall be known as National, or should that be International .... or even Global Qualms day!

I'm over-excited at the moment, in case you can't tell from my babbling. OH has been troubled by me looking a tad forlorn (another word I don't use ) of late and just ordered a couple of books for me - big whoop!! I shall be harrassing the postman each day for the next 10 days or so!!

Stately homes are wonderful things aren't they. I used to go visit them with my parents and enjoy tea and cake afterwards. In fact tea, cake and the gardens were generally my favourite part, old paintings don't do it for me.... why would they when you have a budding artist in the house who draws "scarey woo woo monsters" .... that was her first major work aged about 3

Anyway, enough prattle. Time for a cuppa and plan the day. Off to see my best friend this afternoon, she's 92 now and could run rings round most of us!

My legs ache this morning

Despite this, I am a whirling housework dervish - the more I get done today, the more of the loft I can de-junk next week while Mr Sad is away with Little Saddette at scout camp. Oh, that and - one of my bestest friends is due round for coffee and she notices stuff like dust, which I never do

Hill wimp!

snowy and Sad - Glad you two are setting me a good housework example. I'm not dervishing, exactly, but I *am* catching up with clearing up the kitchen and doing the washing so it doesn't all need doing at the weekend.

Mr M is on a work awayday today. I carefully ironed him a suitable shirt, he set off in a roar of exhaust about five minutes late, then reappeared on a huge pother a few minutes later, ran upstairs, did something or other, ran back down, said: "Don't ask!" and belted back out and roared off again.
When i went upstairs I noticed he's decided to wear a different shirt so i needn't have bothered.

Men!
Hope he makes it to the awayday in one piece, though. Suspect other drivers en route are being called all sorts of horrible names for no good reason while he gets it out of his system...

SnOwY - this is why I love you

Handy - Men indeed... mine has filled the hall with everything he's taking to scout camp - if I did that, he'd go nuts but to me it's just a cheerful reminder that I have a week to myself next week

@ Each Grumpy Old Woman - Housework. Why bother ? A wise woman (Lilly Savage I believe) , said "Housework doesn't get any worse if you leave it for seven years."

I can't actually say if this is true or not but our home is ALWAYS a tip. It's like painting the Forth Rail Bridge. I know the saying is The Forth Road Bridge but I am pedantic at times.

Ironing - Years ago when The Slavettes were very little, #3 wasn't even a twinkle in Himself's eye at the time, Himself had a position where he had to wear a collar and tie and the suit everyday. I used to stand and Iron all his shirts and steam and press his suits. One evening while I was pressing, steaming and ironing away Himself was actually at home and NOT at work and he watched me for some time as I was going about my wifely duties and uttered " You aren't doing that right".
I didn't throw the iron at him.

In the last 18 or so years since Irongate I have perhaps ironed 3 polo shirts for him.

Himself is obsessive about ironing every bit of clothing he wears. #3 Slavette has the same affliction. #1 and #2 are like me - It only gets ironed at the last minute if it really has to be.

@Natures_Law - it's great you went out and had nice food but what a shame the beer wasn't so good I like real ales and nice beer.

@Sadperson - #2 Slavette and Tam the Bam (her boyfriend) went camping today. They plan to go fishing so have the licences all sorted and as well as all the camping gear they had loads of fishing stuff blocking the hall and any area that lead to the drive. How much stuff did they need ! All the fishing gear almost took up as much space as the tent etc.

Tonight is very strange in our home. There is only The Combat Corgis and myself here. Himself is nightshift, #2 and Tam the Bam are away camping, #3 is staying with Rocky the Sensible, and #1 and Big Ben are round his.

Now if only Himself hadn't been nightshift - we could have walked around naked and watched repeats of the antiques road show on Telly naked.
