It's a gloriously sunny day today and I'd love to be striding across the fields... all in good time though. Please let's not suddenly have bucketloads of snow It looks like March/April out there rather than January - weird. But nice
We were cross-countrying this morning... well I say we, I watched and cheered, m'laddo ran his heart out (a fairly impressive 5th place and his school won the team award for his age group cos his mate came first!)... and laughed at the man in the orange top who was the hare for 8 races

Hi all
Now I have got head lice,,,,caught em from a patient
And that was the other activity of the day - we has been infiltrated by the critters too... thankfully only one of them but I spent the afternoon banging the comb on the table and squishing with my nail! Lost the nitty gritty comb so bought a substandard Morrisons special

Still sending vibes in a SP/LL direction - we'll make them bugs fuff off I'm sure once we unleash the power of the GOW... we just need Batty and her full stop and job's a good 'un

And poor old Melony - I had a sinus infection last week and accused both himself and youngest m'laddo of having a hand in breaking my nose... it started with a really sore bridge of my nose, swelling and bruised eyes! Thankfully the doc prescribed anti-demonics before I divorced him and sent the other for anger-management

Should point out I only accused them because the night before it started I'd shared a bed with them both and I was sure they'd attacked me in their sleep

For those wondering where Iggy is have a look at the link

Sorry I have been MIA - had a dreadful few weeks here, life can never be easy but this is the pits. However, as they say when you hit rock bottom, the only way is up..... unless someone brings in heavy drilling machinery in which case god help us all!

Hope it gets better soon - if it doesn't do it quickly enough then we'll just have to come and kick some arse... I don't mind being the GOW rep to visit - it's bloody freezing here and a friend of mine in Adelaide keeps complaining about the heat

Sorry to hear that life isn't treating you kindly at the moment, Plummie. Just keep looking onwards and upwards as you are doing and hopefully things will get better soon. I'm rooting for you!

Can I come too? My poor joints could do with some warm weather. I'm sure I'll be useful for something.

Poor Snowy. Couldn't they have given you flowers instead? I hope you've been able to see them off already. KJ is right, btw hair conditioner left on for a few hours with your hair wrapped in plastic seems to not only recondition the hair after the harsh anti-nit shampoo you have to use but also suffocates any live ones still left and prevent eggs from finding a comfortable spot. Luckily, I've never had them (nor my kids) but all my teacher friends in NYC were always getting them from the kids and this is what they did to keep them away.

Hello, all

Lovely to see so much chat on the thread this weekend

((((((((Plumhugs)))))))) - loads of vibes to you. Keep on keeping on and you'll plough out of the other side in the end!

Sad, glad you're feeling a bit better. Slow and srteady wins the race, and all that.

Thanks for the heads-up about the nose, me@h, but in the end she only developed one shiner ( ) so I think her nose is OK. It's going nicel greeny-yellow now so shold be gone by next week. And it's her birthday tomorrow, so this weekend we've been out and about having as much fun as we can in sub-zero temperatures!

snowy - we got rid of our headlice (Melony, and me - Mr M escaped) by combing through every night with conditioner and a fine comb. Tip - if you rinse the comb in a jug of water after each sweep, the lice and eggs float and you can keep track of how many you're getting out. I used to do it in the shower.

((((((((((((((((((((((GOWs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Thanks for all the kind wishes and offers of visits to collectively kick butt for me, it's very much appreciated.

Happy Birthday to young Melony - I hope you all have a lovely lovely day!

Time goes so quickly. LittlePlum who is nearly as tall as me will be 10 this year, I saddened myself earlier by thinking how few years I will have left with her before she goes out independantly into the big wide world - wahhhhhhhhhhh Mind you, by then she'll probably be horrible and I'll be glad to see her out the door .... I have a theory that I've had such an easy time with her as a youngster that her teenage years are going to be awful - she'll turn into a Kevin as soon as she hits 13. Hopefully, I'll be proved wrong!

I'm just home from work and everyone is asleep. I'm wide awake which is annoying because I have to be up in five and a half hours - eeeep! It's disgustingly hot and humid here at the moment, absolutely foul the last couple of days, I would much rather be cold!

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. Vibes to those who need them .... including me .. ((((Plum))))

Well it's absolutely freezing here Plumster. Brass monkeys. The fire's lit but I'm about to put the heating on as well, and if that doesn't do it I'll be having a hot water bottle next.

Pants you can't sleep, though.

handy - a very happy birthday to Little Melon.

Here, apart from freezing my whatnots off, I'm stupidly busy and quite knackered. I've a To Do list and delete and add to it as I go along and it doesn't appear to be shrinking. In fact, it feels like every item I tackle generates 2 more. Funny old world, innit.

. (<--- for Collette )

Happy Birthday to Melony! (Is she 3 or 4? )

I've got my passport, sunglasses, SPF40, sun hat and have been practising "gooday mate". I'm all ready for the GOW "business" trip down under.

G'day, me@h and all grumpies

Me@h, Melony is 4. Scary, isn't it?

She had a fab birthday and has taken her cake, chopped and wrapped up after she'd gone to bed last night, into school today so that her class can all have "a snack as a treat". Bless! (I did check with school that it would be OK, as they usually do fruit at snack-time).

Here, I'm having a very work-oriented day and trying not to leave my lovely warm drama studio as it's cold and bloody miserable outside. Brrrrrrr....

And I'm dancing right along with you and singing: "Celebrate good times, come on..."

I was doing that driving up the A1, after I got your text.

It's been a long day but good - all kinds of paperworky and important thingies have been attended to. I'm out to lunch tomorrow (oh yes, completely out to lunch) and I can have the best part of the day off without feeling too guilty. Getting some sleep wouldn't go amiss, though. I'm such a silly insomniac sometimes. Honestly. @ self

I shrieked and hopped up and down a lot!
Luckily it was after the students had left and my meeting had finished!

Thanks for the cake, me@h! *slurp*

Definitely lucky. I can just imagine a little mid-lesson/meeting hop had you checked your phone then.
