I hate the snow, it took me hours to get into work, I couldnt get up the hill to the CMHT and was stuck diagonally....had to keep getting out with my shovel.

Hello peeps
Have been darn sarf this weekend and it was cold.

I had much fun and much wine and shopped a little.

Glad to hear you are happy and starting an aquarium, Sad.

Roll on summer....

I recommend sh1t daytime telly - sends me off in no time: "Oh look, it's Location, Locatio....zzzzzzz"

((((((huggle)))))))”

Location Location is my guilty pleasure I haven't resorted to Jeremy Kyle yet

Amica - - and if you were darn sarf how come you didn't pop in

Maybe I should stop fighting it then... going to give sleeping at night one last go for now having made myself stay up all day, and apparently I need to eat a banana an hour before bedtime - if that fails then I have plenty of books and no plans for tomorrow so...

SnOwy - go sledging instead if it's good enough for the bat, it's good enough for the rest of us.

KJ - there are a few football pitches who would welcome your services....

Morning Grumpies. Huggles are going to everyone who needs them. I've been AWOL due to a number of reasons.

I think I mentioned my mum had a stroke back at the end of November - she's since had a series of mini strokes and has now been diagnosed with vascular dementia - she's went downhill very quickly over quite a short period of time.

I fell backward down a flight of stairs and dislocated my shoulder - still painful. The bruising would have been beautiful explosion of colours on a canvas.

Some little toerag( I'm being polite) stole #2 Slavettes bike - I'm fizzing about that. She got it for her birthday at the end of December and took delivery of it on the 9th of January. It was bloody expensive too - she's a serious sporty person. The policeman who came to the house said to me his first car didn't cost that much. I said my last car didn't cost that much!

Pixie our little girl Combat Corgi had a huge lump removed from her tummy just before Christmas and I'm still battling with the pet insurance.

Good stuff has happened too - #1 Slavette now has a full time job and she's loving it.

#1 has a conditional place at one uni and has had interviews at others she is waiting to hear back from.

Funny stuff - I received a text from #1 asking me where Bridal wear shops were in The Toon and I almost fell down the stairs again - turns out it wasn't for her but her friend.

I'll catch up with the thread later on.

Wraps in the shawl and good thoughts and vibes to everyone.

I kept off Jezza Kyle the *whole* of the time I was off, Sad.
I have high expectations of you!

PQ, what a time you've been having!
Hope you're battling through OK and make it to the other end in one piece.
Hugs to you ((((((PQ))))))

Here we now have frozen snow. Lovely. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Freezing. I need to be going somewhere first thing and I'm not sure I'll be able to get onto the main road. Grump, grump, grump...

Thanks everyone for the welcome back. I feel like I've came home

I'm beginning to think I live in the only place in the UK that has no snow. At the weekend we had frozen rain - not hail and not so much as a dusting of snow yet. The Combat Corgis are desperate for big snow.

I may have to head down to the Leeds Liverpool canal for some R&R with Himself and the Combat Corgis. Any snow in the Skipton area?

I have visions of you digging yourself out still. Sending warm, snow melting vibes.

Hi there PQ - sorry you've been having a bumpy ride. Vibes to you too.

Here, I managed 5 hours sleep last night which is over twice what it's been since I got home from the op. Clearly the secret is to go out and pig a huge meal so we plan to do the same tonight - for research purposes, naturally - after subjecting ourselves to our last ever parent's evening

Still freezing, but the snow is melting during the day, so once you're off the crunchy bits it's not too bad.

I live about 500 feet lower down that the bat, though, so she might still be stuck!

Sad - that sounds like an excellent plan!

I did manage to get out this morning but it was touch and go. The car really wanted to stay at home. I could tell by the way it wouldn't start and then dragged its rear end through the snow when it eventually did. Slacker.

Sad, pigging out for research is genius.

Ten days here. Boooooooooooo....

Just woken up. Research findings - pigging out definitely warrants further investigation

*passes round tin of shortbread designed to heal ice induced bumps and bruises, among other things*

Can't believe it's half term from Friday - but slightly puzzled as to why it isn't for HM

They're forecasting more snow today

Pigging out is good for you! Woohoo! Continue this research IMMEDIATELY!

As for why it's not half term... because Hull are having theirs a week after everyone else, that's why. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........

Fab - I might be driving by then

Very Grumpy Indeed at the moment. Can't rant as it's work related but let's just say I've done the unthinkable (for me) and contacted my union.
handymelon
09-02-2012
That's not unthinkable *said the union rep*, that's what unions is for.

Up the workers. Bastuds. Etc.

And you're NOT driving all the way out to meet me at half term! I'll see you at Easter, you loony!

Are you expressing an interest in seeing the loonies this Easter our KJ?

Phew, Friday night's here. At last. Friday night's the best night of the week. It's lovely to be able to switch off.

Well, it would be if mama wasn't on my mind. She's very against the carers popping in to keep an eye on her and has devised a plan to dodge them. She has figured out that she can climb over the back wall by standing on a chair, then lowering herself down on the other side. While I admire her athleticism and the determination to have her own way, she is a little old lady and it wouldn't take a massive fall for something to break. If, on the other hand, I call off the carers, she'll be judged to be self neglecting and then that won't end well either. My options are somewhat limited.

Well, duh BG. Don't take this the wrong way grumpies, hugs are fine, but numero uno, just to big up my mate Sad would be reason enough.

Grump:

I can't spill on t'Interwebs Nothing indoors related

Grump:

Bloody match is off. I *like* Donny, your away day out is spannered, what a shame.
