Thanks girls

Poor snowy
Hope you feel better tomorrow

...and you too, Socha

Sad, glad it's more positive tonight.

Just checked school e-mail, and no word from the Boss. Not sure what that means, as usually he's pretty good about letting us know everything straight away. Hmmmmmmm...

Fingers crossed handy.

I'm pretty knackered and glad it's Friday, although I've a phone call to make before the end of the day and it's a tricky one so I've been putting it off since this morning when I couldn't get through. Horrible, innit, best get it over with...

It's Friday... I turned down lunch at the pub today so as to preserve my energy for the weekend. I'm such a saint

Well, if the truth be known I wasn't actually dressed, but let's not go there

So, the dog's started puking again and the teenager has taken over the sitting room/TV.

HM - no news? or are you out celebrating? *crosses fingers*

Batty - hope the call wasn't as bad as you dreaded

Years ago, we had a rented Philips TV, upon whose flat top our smaller cat would sleep, it being nice and warm.

I came down one morning, to find said TV covered in cat puke, which I cleaned up, but I couldn't do anything about any puke that might be inside of the TV.

I turned on the TV. A stench filled the room. The picture showed only one primary colour, but after a few minutes, two, and after quarter of an hour of Whiskas aromatherapy, all three primaries, full colour.

I miss that cat, and that telly.

Whiskas aromatherapy

Mr Sad's taken the pukey dog for a walk in the hope that the exercise will help dislodge what I suspect may be something he's eaten It's either that or an expensive trip to the vet will be imminent. Weird, because yesterday he seemed fine and we thought it had passed.

ho hum

Trade you a puke-y dog for an abcessy cat...

Can't say anything definite in public as the report doesn't come out for ten days, and it's always possible that somebody on our readership has put two and two together and recogises me. Anyway - "arsebiscuiits" probably sums it up. Two years of pointlessly increased beaureaucracy, anybody? Woot.... not!

And the shortage of sleep has finally got to mr M who is in a big fat sulk about nothing.

Double woot.

Still, Saturday awaits... ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((GOWs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

(((handy))) and (((Saddog)))

Very pissy weather here but yes, boys being home means I'm happy.

And my phone call will now have to wait until Monday. I didn't chicken out but the person wasn't there when I tried again, so my conscience is clear.

I'm very grumpy. What with everything that was going on last year, I did next to no work really, and I'm trying to put it right this year. But I'm spending a disproportionate amount of time dealing with my mum. I'm either on the phone talking to someone about her, or in meetings to do with her, or emailing people, or dashing over to deal with whatever crisis she's managed to create that day... It's endless, and I can't impose a timetable of my own making on it so it's a constant intrusion and every time the phone rings now I think oh f*ck, now what, and even if it's nothing, or nothing too terrible, it's hard to switch back to *work mode* or *relaxed mode*.

I'd love to say sod it, but the guilt monster won't let me.

And it's not that I need to be thanked, but not being verbally abused on a regular basis would be nice.

I hate dementia with a passion.

I'm also trying to work from home, on a couple of little things the wider team need doing in preparation for the imminent falling of the axe. It's depressing and frustrating and I want to bang my head on a wall but at least I don't get your issues

I think in your shoes I'd be presenting the social services with a clear ultimatum; you've found a workable solution and if they're not happy with that, threaten to walk away altogether. We all know you won't, thanks to the guilt monster, but they don't know that.

And meanwhile the stress won't be doing your health any good at all. I prescribe fresh air followed by cake.

Now then, does anyone know if there are any ancient laws I could invoke which would make it legal for me to pour boiling oil over a few heads at County Hall????

(((((((((((((((batty)))))))))))))))) - I know. I really do know. And it'll pass, in the end. Gritted teeth till it does. And cake...
